Annie Periwinkle was a woodland pixie. She was the younger sister of Chloe and Daphne Periwinkle. Annie's Pixie Fledging Ceremony went horribly wrong when she was given monstrous, bat-like wings as a result of her negative offering to the Goddess of Flight given to her by the Tallyman. When she attempted to give further details, she suddenly began bleeding at the eyes and died in her older sister Chloe's arms.

History[]

Early Life[]

Annie was born into Chloe's family of Woodland Pixies as the latter's younger sister in 2004. Prior to her appearance in the series, she had not yet received her wings and was set to do so at her Pixie Fledging Ceremony. Before the ceremony, she was worried she was not going to receive her wings and was told of an unknown entity known as the Tallyman. The Tallyman told her that he would ensure she received her wings in exchange for her using his coins as the offering for the Goddess of Flight at her ceremony. Annie obliviously took the deal, unaware of the consequences it would return, and was told that she was not allowed to speak his name, unless she wanted "terrible things" to happen.

Throughout the Series[]

In "Not That Girl", Annie was preparing to come into her own as a pixie and gain her wings. She approached the table to complete the Pixie Fledging ritual, which involved offering a token to the Goddess of Flight. She offered a red coin (similar to one Jordan Chase had discovered prior to the ceremony), however the ceremony went horribly wrong as she began to convulse and scream violently and soon developed horrible bat-like wings instead of traditional pixie wings. After the disastrous party, Chloe came to Annie and wondered what happened. Annie recounted her interaction with The Tallyman, but refused to say his name out of fear of what would happen. Chloe handed her a pen and paper, figuring that Annie could write it down. As soon as Annie did so, however, she started bleeding from her eyes, helplessly dying in a hysterical Chloe's arms.

In "You Can't Go Home Again", it's revealed that Annie possessed matches from the Blue Camellia club.

In "Divine Secrets of the O.G. Sisterhood", Maggie used the Flipside Spell to see Daphne Periwinkle's memory to find out how she was connected to the Lost One. In the memory, she sees the Lost One appear to Daphne in Annie's form and convinced her to join the Unseen in order to revive her sister. Right after Maggie spoke, the Lost One noticed her and realized she had used the Flipside spell to view Daphne's memory. She then cut off the rope connecting Maggie to the real world before disappearing.

    • Wing Manifestation: The ability to manifest wings on one's back and make them disappear at will. Unlike other pixies, Annie was given horrendous, bat-like wings as a result of her deal with the Tallyman.
      • Flight: The ability to propel oneself through the air in any direction without outside assistance with the help of her wings.
  • Pixie Dust Generation: The ability to generate pixie dust out of one's own body. As a pixie, it is presumed that she possessed this ability, though she never utilized it.

Trivia[]

  • The exact method in which the Tallyman was able to kill Annie is unclear. It's stated that it only happened because she revealed more to Chloe than he wanted her to, but the gremlin doesn't have the power to kill others in such a manner. It's possible that Inara had something to do with it, as she was the manipulator and mastermind behind the Unseen from the beginning.
