The Cave of Ancients is a hidden magical location guarded by Willow's witchy family for generations. The cave contained one half of the stone tablet that had information inscribed relating to the Tomb of Chaos. It is also the only place in the world that the highly powerful toxin, bioluminescent lichen, grows.
History[]
In "O, The Tangled Web", after brokering peace, Willow handed her distant relative, Kyra, a set of runes, which Harry Greenwood recognized from the piece of a stone tablet found in the Command Center. Willow then told Harry about the Cave of Ancients. Later, Harry and Mel Vera went to the cave and found the second half of the stone tablet hidden in its wall.
Several months later, in "I Dreamed a Dream…", Macy Vaughn visited the cave with the intention of securing a sample of the potent bioluminescent lichen. This prehistoric compound, known for its high toxicity, represented the sole substance capable of vanquishing the Whispering Evil. However, Macy's mission took a perilous turn as she faced an unexpected ambush by the Whispering Evil immediately after collecting the lichen sample. The malevolent force sought to possess her, a fate Macy vehemently resisted, remembering the ominous future she had glimpsed alongside Maggie Vera in "Schrodinger's Future" where she fell under his control. To thwart possession, Macy ingested the toxin, successfully destroying the monster, but inflicting severe cellular damage to her own body at the same time. Despite the toll to her body and health, she managed to return to the Command Center through a portal before losing consciousness.

- It has never been revealed how this cave and Willow's family were connected to the Tomb of Chaos and the Perfecti, as well as exactly how the second part of the tablet got here. While it could be assumed that Willow and Kyra's ancestors might have been involved in the creation of the Perfecti, this remains unconfirmed and unmentioned. Alternatively, it's plausible that their ancestors were not connected to the Tomb of Chaos or the Perfecti, and they merely stumbled upon the cave, subsequently taking on the responsibility of guarding it.
