References to the Original Charmed[]
- Mel and Roxie use the word "cockamamie" to describe Mel's 1926 plan. In the original series, Piper once expressed frustration about the "cockamamie rules" about forces of good and evil being able to tempt a new witch to join either side.
- Inara was entombed alive, like the witch Tuatha.
- Maggie temporarily flies while escaping Daphne's memory. Her original counterpart, Phoebe, learned to fly on a broomstick while in the year 1670.
- Her briefly being an Pixie is reminiscent of the time when Phoebe turned herself into a mermaid although unlike Maggie, Phoebe was in a state of apathy at the time and wanted to stay as a mermaid. While Maggie just wanted to be a Pixie to escape Daphne’s memory by flying out of the memory hole.
- Harry finds out Diana was from an alternate reality, where a Charmed One from her world had created Infinite Home Video. Two of the Charmed Ones from the original show traveled to an alternate world where they encountered their evil doppelgangers. It is also heavily implied that the witch to create Infinite Home Video was Phoebe Halliwell.
- The Lost One, who has served as the overarching villain of the season, is revealed to be Inara, one of the original Charmed Ones. In the Season 9 comics, Neena who was the main villain of the first arc, was the first witch.
- It was revealed that the nine original tribes of magic came together to forge the "Ultimate Power". In the original series, the Ultimate Power was the title given to the Jenkins sisterhood of two witches; Christy and Billie Jenkins. Due to the manipulations of the Triad, the sisters attempted to destroy the Charmed Ones, whom they believed to be evil and corrupted by their power. The title became void when Billie vanquished her sister in self-defense.
- The creation of the Power of Three was the result of the nine original tribes giving up their remaining power, and placing it within the Unity Bowl. In the Season 9 comics, the Charmed Ones used the Phosphorus Cauldron to defeat the Source of All Evil by collecting magic from all the magical beings they'd encountered.
