The Empathic Staff is a magical bō staff that was given to Maggie Vera as a gift by her mother, Marisol Vera. The staff allowed her to better focus her emotional energy. After Maggie's aura was stripped, she lost access to her empathic abilities and thus has since not utilized the staff.
Overview[]
At an unspecified time, Marisol Vera created a hidden room inside the Vera Manor. Due to her power of prophecy, Marisol knew that her daughters would become the Charmed Ones. She gave each of her three daughters a gift that would help them during battle. Knowing Maggie would be an empath, Marisol gifted her youngest daughter an Empathic Staff to help her control and focus her emotional energy when needed the most. According to her, the Staff is enchanted to give Maggie the skills and knowledge to use it, without any previous training.
History[]
In "Ambush", the sisters unlocked a door into a vault under the house where they were greeted by a projection of their mother. Marisol's projection told Maggie that the staff would help her harness her emotional energy. She used it to fight Hunter Caine and later vanquish him with it, with help from her sisters, but he managed to kill Devorah Silver and release the Harbinger of Hell inside him and infect the town.
In "Red Rain", Maggie used her staff to cast the Kinetic Blast Spell to stop Charity Callahan from escaping, and later split the staff in two in her fight against Parker Caine.
In "The Source Awakens", Maggie was seen wielding the staff while facing Macy who had become the Source and facing emotionally spiraling, causing her new powers to fall out of control. The staff fell out the window due to the powerful wind Macy generated, and later Macy helped her retrieve it. This was the last time the staff was used.

- Maggie can both magically contract and split the staff into two escrima sticks for ease of carrying and use as a weapon.
- The staff can be used to channel a spell, combined with emotional energy, for the spell to be augmented.
- Maggie stopped using the staff after season 1 even though she gained new empathic powers in late season 2. Instead, she started using a baton, and later a bo staff midway through season 4.
