The first monster was the first known experiment of the Faction, a group of humans led by Vivienne Laurent and Julian Shea that desired to steal magic for themselves. The Faction employed a shaman to resurrect the corpse of an unnamed man. Shortly after his resurrection, he was experimented on by various scientists linked to the Faction, infusing the magic of three different creatures within him and turning him into a monster. In his monster form, he slaughtered all of the scientists and attacked Mel Vera and Harry Greenwood before eventually collapsing back in his human form.
Throughout the Series[]
In "Dance Like No One is Witching", this unknown man was resurrected by a shaman who took life energy from people who ate green candy. Although the ritual was not completed, it was successful.
In "Sudden Death", Mel Vera and Harry Greenwood tried to find Jimmy, Harry's Darklighter, when Harry received visions of Jimmy in trouble. They went to the site in Wisconsin where Jimmy had previously entrapped several magical creatures under the orders of the Faction, but find that the place had been destroyed. After Mel casts a spell to learn what had happened, it was revealed that a lycanthrope, enenra and hedorah had been killed in order to steal their magic to create a strong monster that in turn attacked the Faction scientists. Later, Harry and Mel traveled to a new faction building. Harry found his Darklighter trapped back in his bottle, but they are attacked by the monster that was created in the destroyed laboratory when Mel accidentally released him. The monster tried to destroy the bottle with Jimmy and Mel attempts to stop him, after which the monster disappeared in smoke, but he collapsed back in his human form before he could leave the building. After Mel and Harry left the building, the fate of the revived corpse is unclear.
Physical Appearance[]
He was a white man with green eyes and brown hair. In his monster form, he became a massive smoke figure with large black claws and bright blue eyes.
Powers and Abilities[]
After being experimented on by various doctors/scientists tied to the Faction, this man was imbued with the magic of a lycanthrope, an enenra and a hedorah. The powers displayed by the monster are listed below:
- Active Powers
- Smoke Form: The ability to take the form of smoke. After being experimented on, the man turned into a massive smoke-like figure. It is most likely that this power was stolen from the enenra.
- Claw Extension: The ability to make sharp claws extend out of one's fingers. In monster form, he had large arms and hands with long, sharp claws. It is most likely that this power was stolen from the lycanthrope.
- Acid Secretion: The ability to generate highly corrosive acid to completely disintegrate a being near instantaneously. The monster was shown using this power to kill one of the doctors. It is most likely that this power was stolen from the hedorah.
- Energy Blast Generation: The ability to generate a powerful blast of pure energy. The monster used this power to attack various scientists and bust down the door to the cell that was holding it and knock Mel and Harry several feet backward. It is unknown from which creature this power came.
- Supernatural Strength: The ability to be stronger than what is naturally possible. The monster was able to grab and lift a full grown adult with one hand and no visible struggle. This power likely came from the lycanthrope.
- Passive Powers
- Resistance: The monster was able to withstand Mel's power of Molecular Manipulation for several seconds before he finally collapsed.
