A golem is a mindless monster created to be an extremely powerful weapon, due to their lack of a soul and aura. They are known to be very dangerous for both good and evil and are capable of destroying the Charmed Ones.

History[]

Ancient Times[]

In ancient times, golems were created to be powerful weapons in battle. Because they were too powerful for either side to control, creating golems required cooperation between a witch and a demon.

When an ancient incarnation of the Charmed Ones battled the Perfecti, the latter sent a golem after them. This sisterhood of Charmed Ones met their end at the hands of the monster, but not before they accomplished their goal: to entomb the Perfecti within the Tomb of Chaos.

Eventually, these monsters were deemed too dangerous, and the recipe for their creation was banned. To this day, only a few have the knowledge. Witches kept the recipe for its creation, while demons kept the password to activate it.

2021[]

The Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones were led to believe that they could destroy the Perfecti with a golem and set out to finish the task: while Macy Vaughn and Celeste made the golem's body, Maggie Vera went to Fenric the Vile for the password. After its body was complete, Harry Greenwood orbed it to the Tulipe Institute to hide it in order to protect them, but they eventually found him and activated the golem. The monster, however, turned on the Charmed Ones as it was under the control of the Perfecti. Harry took the golem to Siberia, while Macy and Maggie drew the Perfecti into a trap. Macy used the opportunity to steal their amulets and take command over the golem. It then sent both Aladria and Mo into the Tomb of Chaos before sending itself in as well.

Powers and Abilities[]

Active Powers
Passive Powers
  • Resistance: The ability to make oneself highly resistant to magical and physical harm. According to Harry Greenwood, golems are impervious to human weapons and magical attacks.

Weaknesses[]

  • Bloodstone Amulets: The golem created by Celeste was controlled by whoever wore the bloodstone amulets, thus its loyalty would shift if the amulets were stolen by another.

Trivia[]

  • In "The Enemy of My Frenemy", Second Monster is revealed to be half golem. In "Someone's Going to Die", while Harry was looking through the Faction's monitor, he found a list with all creatures the group had captured and killed; among them was a golem.
    • This contradicts information given in "Perfecti Is the Enemy of Good", where golems are presented as beings that had not been created for thousands of years.
    • It can be presumed that there are two types of golems, since the entry in the Book of Elders included images of a stone/rock version and a mud version of the golem. It appears that Macy and Celeste created the mud golem; thus, the exact routine for creating the stone/rock version is currently unknown.
  • There is an entry in the Book of Elders on how to create a golem, but the password to control the monster did not exist within the book. Rather, it was in the hands of ancient demons who possessed such knowledge.
  • In the original show, the only known golem was Finn. He was built by Gamill to lure innocent young women into their lair and turn them into his figurines before he eventually grew a conscience and tried to help the Charmed Ones fight his master before Gammill destroyed him. Also, in the comic continuation of the original series, the Source of All Evil was briefly resurrected as a golem before once again being vanquished.
  • The Second Monster was 1/7 a golem.
  • It is very likely that these golems are based on the golem named Malivore from the show Legacies, since they were both created by the alliance of species considered enemies to each other and are meant to be very powerful and dangerous.
