Losing her made me who I am. Vigilant. Protective. And I suppose that is why I was given the honor of serving alongside you three.
— Harry to Mel Vera

Harry Greenwood, born James Westwell, is the former Whitelighter of the Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones and Fiona Callahan. He is also the ex-boyfriend of Macy Vaughn and Charity Callahan. He developed a close bond with the Vera-Vaughn sisters and moved into the Vera Manor soon after their powers were unbound. Since the Elders had stripped Harry of his powers and Fiona later used the Vortex Viribus that had appeared beneath the Vera Manor to gave him his powers back, Harry was no longer linked to the Elders and thus could make decisions on his own. With the deaths of the Elders, all Whitelighters were extinguished. Harry managed to survive, due to no longer being tied to the Elders. He later found Helen McGantry in a mental hospital and discovered the truth about Darklighters. However, when Helen killed herself in order to save Macy from her Darklighter, Harry became the last Whitelighter in existence.

Six months after Macy died, Harry went into a state of depression and gave up his powers to become a self-titled "Necrolighter", a being who could communicate with the dead, in hopes of seeing her again. Ultimately, despite not finding Macy, Harry finds a way to use his new powers to help those in need.

History[]

Early Life[]

Born in 1920 as James Westwell, he grew up and married a woman named Clara and fathered a son named Carter. While his son was ill, James turned to stealing to pay for his medical treatment and ultimately ended up in jail. His son survived the disease, and James was eventually released.

In 1957, while out flirting with a married woman on the street, James saw the woman's daughter about to be hit by a car and rushed in to save her. He saved her life at the cost of his own. The Elders deemed his sacrifice worthy enough to resurrect him as a Whitelighter, assuming the alias "Harry Greenwood". As with all other Whitelighters, unwanted sides of his personality were extracted after he was transformed, but like his peers he had no idea of this. As a Whitelighter, he would serve to protect and guide witches and all memories of his mortal life had been erased. According to the Elders, this was important to keep him focused on his responsibilities to his charges.

Harry had a charge named Fiona, but when she befriended the Sarcana, she was imprisoned by the Elders in Tartarus. However, he was made to believe that Fiona was institutionalized for telling a person that she was a witch and committed suicide.

Throughout the Series[]

In "Pilot", Harry first appears as the new chair of the Women's Studies department which Mel thinks to be wrong. Later Harry kidnaps the Charmed Ones and is revealed to be their Whitelighter and gives them a choice to accept their destiny as witches or become mortal humans without any memory of magic intervention. TBA

In "Let This Mother Out", the Charmed Ones are warned by the spirit of their mother not to trust Harry and he tries to investigate the demon attack that occurred after the death of Taydeus while the girls are plotting against him. Later it is revealed that a spirit was attempting to deceive the girls and Harry earns their trust when he helps with defeating this Imposter Demon.

In "Sweet Tooth", Harry begins to conjure a combat simulation to train the Charmed Ones when the girls appear to have problems: Macy is having trouble using her telekinetic powers, Mel is reckless, and Maggie is very distracted with her sorority issues. After the failed training, Harry discusses with the girls to allow the Elders to find the Harbinger of Hell, but Mel disagrees and attempts to find out herself. After the Charmed Ones return home, Maggie tries to convince Harry and her sisters to have a Halloween party at the house for her sorority sisters by telling them that they can find out who is the Harbinger. However, Maggie begins to use Glamours for Personal Gain, which Harry warns her about its consequences. In the end, Harry and the girls discover that Angela Wu is the Harbinger, and later they attempt to capture it with a spell that fails because of Maggie. Mel tries to capture the Harbinger herself and uses a very powerful spell that almost killed Macy, but luckily Harry is able to heal her. Mel realizes that Harry is not being threatened by her power but only trying to protect her when he reveals details about his past.

In "Exorcise Your Demons", Harry tries to reassure the Charmed Ones that Charity Callahan is right to want to kill Angela Wu while she is possessed by the Harbinger of Hell. When he discovers that Angela is still alive, Harry is surprised, but initially still thinks that it is necessary to kill her; however, in the end, he decides to let the sisters try to save Angela. He later helps convince Charity too.

In "Other Women", since the Elders are examining the sisters' Book of Shadows, Harry moves into their attic to provide information if needed. When Maggie tells him about Summer, Harry notes that she might be a Succubus. After Niko Hamada's attack, Harry realizes that the girl was targeted by a Shapeshifter. Harry then teams up with Mel to fend off Hunter and tries to convince the witch that it's not her fault that Niko is in danger, but she convinces him to give her a spell that will make it so that she and Niko never met. The Whitelighter informs the sisters of the contraindications of this spell and of the fact that he does not remember his life as a mortal. After Mel does her part for the spell, he urges her to say goodbye to Niko. When Maggie tells him that she considers him part of their family, he is very touched.

In "Kappa Spirit", Harry gets Mel a job interview and later gives Maggie information about ghosts and accompanies Macy to Galvin Burdette's birthday party. He later helps Maggie find information on Jenna Gordonson and wipes the memories of Brenda Mancini's victims. When Macy thanks him for everything he does for her and her sisters, Harry admits that he could move out of their house since they got the book back, but that he doesn't want to because they are his dear friends and he feels alone without them. Harry then accompanies Macy to Mama Roz, but has to leave her alone to go to the rescue of Mel and Maggie, who need help saving Lucy. Harry eventually returns to his apartment, but first Macy, Mel, and Maggie make him an honorary member of their sorority.

In "Out of Scythe", Harry urges Mel to write her thesis proposal, and when the wounded satyr Leon arrives at the manor, he treats him only to discover that a piece of the Scythe of Tartarus has been stolen. Harry suggests trying to track down the demon and not the other keepers, but then the second fragment is also stolen. Shortly afterwards, the manor where the third fragment is kept is attacked by bees, and Harry is scared because he is entomophobic. Eventually the scythe is reassembled and stolen by a mysterious electrokinetic.

In "Bug a Boo", Harry deduces that the scythe was used, and he and Charity attempt to identify the scythe thief, mistakenly believing that it could be one of the electric demons. Harry and Charity later explain to Mel that witches and Whitelighters cannot fight human crime. When he finds out that the Sisters of Arcana have reformed, Harry tries to console Charity and even tries to kiss her, but she refuses, saying that they can't do it again. Harry is later annoyed at having to deal with insect demons and tries to pressure Mel into not listening to Jada by telling her Fiona's story. When Mel reveals that she and her sisters realized that Harry and Charity were once a couple, he claims that the relationship was a mistake, only to realize that they are hunting Cicada Demons. Realizing that the demons find their human companions using AptitudeMatch the three go to rescue Macy, who went to dinner with one of them.

In "Jingle Hell", Harry tries to warn Mel from the dangers to infiltrate the Sarcana, and he passes Christmas with his sisters. To keep Galvin distracted and stuck at their home, Harry starts chatting and drinking with him. However, due to too much coquito, Harry falls asleep, but after waking up, he reveals to Mel that Parker gave Maggie the Amulet of Archangels. Later, Harry later realizes that the Macy in the house is a Shapeshifter and saves the real one. In the end, Harry is dragged into Tartarus along with Hunter Caine.

In "Keep Calm and Harry On", Harry is tortured by the Tartarus Scorpions who make him relive his most painful memories. Harry is convinced that they are not real but are actually about his life as a human. The sisters, in the meantime, try to find a way to free him, but even the Elders have no idea how to do it, and they don't even care much about the problem except for Charity. Mel discovers through Jada that a demon named Dante is the guardian of Tartarus and that Harry must get out of there quickly, or he may never recover. Maggie also ends up in Tartarus, and Harry tries to give her strength and even asks the dragon that guards Tartarus to torment him instead of the witch. After being freed, in exchange for the Harbinger of Hall, Harry talks to Charity, and she reveals that his son is still alive since he managed to save him. The witch and the whitelighter later share a kiss.

In "Witch Perfect", Harry suggests Maggie do something fun to distract herself, so she joins a choir. He later tries in vain to persuade the sisters to have Galvin's memory wiped. Harry is not happy about Galvin getting involved in the sisters' magical activities. Due to his time in Tartarus, he is too weakened to use his powers, but he helps the sisters by providing them with information. Harry later contacts Charity and tells her that he is looking for his son and that he doesn't feel capable of being the Charmed Ones' whitelighter and therefore wants to leave, so the witch urges him to talk to them about it.

In "You're Dead to Me", Harry discovers that Macy was resurrected by a Necromancer as an infant. He then tries to cheer her up, telling her that he knows how she feels and to play her role anyway. He later tries to talk to the sisters, but the only one who comes to him is Mel, and when Maggie and Macy are attacked by Cyd, the two try to reach them, but since Harry's powers are still unstable, they end up in Manchester, where lives Harry's son. The next day Harry enters a church he feels attracted to, and searching through the baptism records he finds a photo of him and his wife Clara, discovering that his name was James Westwell and that his son is named Carter. The two eventually find him while playing with his grandchildren, but in the end Harry decides not to talk to him, content with knowing that he is happy, understanding that his son doesn't need him at that moment, but his charges do and that he needs of them. Harry and Mel then return to Hilltowne. Harry's example pushes Mel not to contact Niko again, whom she met again by chance.

In "Manic Pixie Nightmare", Harry states that the story Parker told Maggie about may be something that should be investigated, later admitting that the young Caine's human side may have strengthened. Harry then puts a protection spell on Noah, another innocent who risked his life, and identifies the substance studied by Macy as Pixie Dust. However, he finds it strange that a pixie is killing mortals since they are benevolent creatures. While talking about it with his sisters, Harry inhales some pixie dust and begins to act cheerful and childish, but returns to normal shortly after. For added safety, Harry guards Noah at the hospital and sends Maggie to ask Parker for advice. She discovers that the pixie is hunting white boys who study international cinema. The four then set a trap for the pixie and, after capturing her, discover that she is under the control of someone else. The pixie, however, takes control of Harry and forces him to let her escape. Chloe also forces him to find a spell in the Book of Shadows that will make Zack the greatest director of all time. Chloe and Zack attempt to sacrifice Harry to perform the spell, but Maggie eventually manages to bring him to his senses.

In "Touched by a Demon", after Macy's hand catches fire, Harry inspects it and notes that it is taking on the characteristics of a demonic limb and that Macy's demonic essence may manifest itself soon. He later advises her to seek advice from Charity. Harry later goes to talk to Macy, telling her that she needs to get along with her sisters to keep the trio at full efficiency. However, Macy replies that she doesn't feel ready to call Charity, and shortly afterwards she accidentally brings a vampire and two angels from the TV series Heaven's Vice in reality. The vampire attacks Harry, who immediately notices the trouble caused by Macy. After understanding how the characters got to their world, he tells Macy that they have to send them back even though she doesn't want to and finds them harmless. Shortly afterwards, due to the weakening of the border between the two realities, the demon Galimori also leaves the series and begins to wander around Hilltowne. Macy defeats Galimori, and Harry erases the memory of the woman he wanted to kidnap, but Gideon and Levi discover that they are imaginary characters and are disappointed, so Gideon tricks Harry and Macy into the world of the series, and he and his brother remain in that real. Harry then explains to Macy that he fears that if they don't return home before the end of the episode, they won't be able to return, but luckily they manage to contact Maggie and tell her what to do. They are later kidnapped together with Angelica by the Devil. In the end, Harry and Macy manage to defeat the Devil, and the two angels agree to return to their world. Harry later decides to watch Heaven's Vice, and when Mel asks him if Charity might have wanted her away from Niko, he replies that if she did, it was for a good reason.

In "Switches & Stones", Harry, Maggie, and Macy inform Charity about the dungeon discovered by Maggie and Parker under the manor. When Charity discovers Mel is with Jada, Harry assures her that she won't end up like Fiona. When Mel and Maggie switch bodies, they ask Harry for help, and he realizes that an amplification of Maggie's empathic powers caused the phenomenon, but now Mel has Maggie's powers and is unable to reverse the switch. Harry later helps the Charmed Ones investigate a petrification, and he and Macy discover that Medusa is responsible. Afterward, Harry, the sisters, Parker, and Charity go to face the gorgon. Harry becomes petrified but later returns to normal after Medusa is defeated. He then erases the memories of everyone who has seen too much.

In "Memento Mori", Harry tries to convince Macy that the Elders will be able to find a solution for her demonic side. Harry later sleeps with Charity. When Macy begins to have memory lapses and is found unconscious in the attic, Harry and Charity decide to watch over her and the latter sends him to look for the Elder Bari who has been missing for a few days. Macy then finds the body of Elder Bari in the attic of her house and calls Harry, who discovers that the witch had completed the tests before she died. Macy fears that she has killed Priyanka and Harry does his best to calm her down. Charity suggests blocking Macy's powers, but he argues against it by convincing her. When Macy discovers that Charity killed Marisol, Charity severs Harry's bond with the sisters so they can't ask for his help. Luckily Harry accidentally runs into Mel and Maggie at the manor and the three realize that Charity was spying on Macy and took her to the Vortex Viribus, so Harry takes them there. They find out from Macy that Charity is Marisol's killer. Eventually, the Charmed Ones manage to overpower Charity and when she pleads for Harry's help, he refuses. He later ignores Charity's justifications, and when Fiona who he thought was dead, shows up and asks him to talk to her sister alone, Harry agrees.

In "Surrender", due to his relationship with Charity and endangering the Charmed Ones, Harry is deemed untrustworthy by the Elders and is punished by having his Whitelighter powers removed, otherwise known as having his "light extinguished," causing him to revert to a mere human, as well as his true age to manifest, making him an old man. Mel tries to ask Jada for help, but she refuses, saying he is just an accomplice of the Elders. This makes them break up. Fiona later tries to extract a map she had hidden in his mind but realizes she cannot do so without his powers, prompting her to offer to help Harry restore his youth and powers using the Vortex Viribus. When she realizes she cannot remove the map, she takes him away.

In The Replacement", the Charmed Ones pretend that Harry had died, since no one knows he is alive. At the end of the episode, Mel finds the Sarcana slaughtered, with only Jada surviving. She tells him Harry was with Fiona, who massacred the entire coven. Mel later finds a pin left behind by Harry as a clue.

In "Source Material", Macy, Mel and Maggie witness the coven's demise and Harry's attempt to stop her, but she has him under her control. The sisters later explain Harry's situation to their new Whitelighter Tessa Flores-Cohen, who decides to use her bond with Harry to look for him. Not trusting Tessa, the sisters decide to spy on her and Mel discovers that she intends to hand Harry over to the Elders after finding him. Tessa senses this and joins him, followed without knowing it by Mel. Harry is still trying to talk some sense into Fiona, but he can't. In the end, the Charmed Ones and Tessa manage to save Harry, but Tessa is killed in the fight, and when Fiona escapes, Harry realizes that the origin dagger she was looking for must not be there. He later officiates Tessa's funeral. Harry is now an independent Whitelighter, as the Charmed Ones freed him from the bond placed on him by Fiona. Harry, however, decides to stay alongside Macy, Mel and Maggie. The four later understand that the Source of All Evil and the Sacred Flame are the same thing. Harry also arranges for Parker's mother's death to be classified as a heart attack.

In "Ambush", Harry helps the sisters prepare a locator spell to find Fiona and reveals one to take away her immortality, but it must be self-inflicted. He later discovers that Macy has developed the power of demonic translation and tries to dissuade her from using the Elder Bari's needle. Eventually Macy loses control and attacks him when he tries to help her. Harry later tells Mel and Maggie what happened and that Macy is becoming more and more demonic and that she shouldn't use the needle anymore. Macy overhears the conversation, but she doesn't agree. Now only six elders remain, so the Charmed Ones and Harry decide to set a trap for Alistair and Fiona, but Hunter Caine manages to reflect the Elders' attack against them and kill them. The only one to survive is the Elder Silver, and Harry takes her away, after which he also saves the Charmed Ones from Hunter. When Hunter takes Lucy hostage, the Elder Silver decides to act as bait. Although the sisters manage to eliminate Hunter, he manages to kill Devorah.

In "Red Rain", when Maggie is contacted by Parker, she wants to go look for him, but Harry tells her that they have to prepare a strategy or risk making the situation worse. He apologizes, but points out that the situation is critical. When Galvin calls them to inform them of a strange epidemic, Harry accompanies the sisters to the hospital and tries to heal Niko, but fails, and suspects that the girl is suffering from complications as a side effect of the spell that rewrote history and informs Mel and Maggie that Niko risks an aneurysm. Harry then declares that the only thing they can do is try to stop Parker from becoming the Source's conduit and goes in search of him with Mel and Maggie. Macy later discovers that the Harbinger of Hell had fused with Hunter and that by killing him they caused the virus to spread throughout the city. Macy wants to use her evil sight to try to control the Harbinger, but Harry, Mel, and Maggie talk her out of it. Harry later suggests that Maggie take advantage of the development of her powers and her staff to try to connect empathically to the half-demon. Maggie thus discovers that Charity is technically still an Elder and that until she dies, the prophecy cannot be completed, and Harry guesses that Charity is at the Gardens of Latebra and goes there with Maggie. Since he has to use the Akkadian Smokescreen to hide and to make it he has to grow a specific plant for the spell, Harry goes to get Mel. Parker eventually finds them and Harry takes Charity away, but Fiona finds her and attacks her. Harry tries to heal her, but her wound is too serious, so Fiona dies in his arms, telling him that she has always loved him. Harry informs Mel and Maggie of what happened and takes them to Macy and Galvin who are trying to stop the infection. The ritual performed by Galvin requires him to sacrifice his life and Harry tries to stop him, but fails. However, the shaman's sacrifice saves the humans and Harry pushes Macy not to give in to her pain, letting her know that her sisters need them. The Source has now awakened, but by stopping the virus Galvin has given Harry and the Charmed Ones hope. When Fiona dies, Harry refuses to heal her and to save Maggie, Macy absorbs the Source. Harry is naturally very worried about this, even as Macy uses her new powers to kill Alastor, erase the humans' memories and heal Niko.

In "The Source Awakens", Harry has no idea of the consequences of what Macy becoming the Source will entail. When Harry, Maggie, and Mel discover that Macy resurrected Galvin, Harry points out to Macy that it will come with consequences, but she doesn't care. He later advises her to be careful when using her new powers. Maggie then finds a page that Lucy under Alastor's control had torn from the Book of Shadows. Harry and Mel later realize that someone is altering reality. The two then remember what reality should be like and return to Hilltown where they restore Maggie's memory. Macy discovers them again and Harry takes the other two sisters away and explains to them that fate will always rearrange itself by continuously killing Marisol. Macy alters reality again, creating one in which she doesn't exist, but Harry, Mel and Maggie return to the moment when Macy began to change things, but they can't reason with her and she sends them to New York. However, the three return to the manor and finally manage to make Macy see reason and free her from the Source.

In "Safe Space", Harry attends Maggie's birthday party. He and Mel then discover the disappearance of a Whitelighter named Angus Glohr, and Harry brings home Anya, the witch who reported him missing. The next day, the sisters are attacked by a masked man, and Maggie calls Harry for help, and he takes the girls to the attic. During the battle, a portal opens, and Harry orders the Charmed Ones to pass through it while he keeps their enemy occupied. Shortly afterwards, the masked man kills Harry; however, he has time to see that the attacker is perfectly identical to him and later is resurrected. Harry then tries to ask other Whitelighters for assistance but discovers that his species has become extinct, as the Whitelighters were linked to the Elders, and with their death, they too died, realizing that he was saved because he was no longer linked to the Elders. He is unable to find his charges, but when Macy uses her pyrokinesis, he finally locates the Charmed Ones and relieves Macy of the poison. The process is exhausting him, temporarily depriving him of the ability to orb, so the group escapes using a portal.
Harry realizes that the portal was created as an emergency escape route for Marisol and that the girls' powers were blocked to make them untraceable. He later explains to the girls that the manor followed them to Seattle, as it was linked to them. However, he doesn't tell them that the attacker looks the same as him.

In "Things to Do in Seattle When You're Dead", Harry searches for clues to the identity or nature of the killer but finds nothing. When the group decides to search for a missing witch, Layla Chapman, Harry convinces Mel and Maggie to stay at the Command Center since they have no powers and since he can't orbing, he and Macy go to the search area in the car. The two then find a woman dying, and Harry tries to heal her but fails. The two then find a witch dying, and Harry tries to heal her but fails. Thanks to her words, Harry and Macy discover a meeting between the Demon Bloodlines. The two then decide to infiltrate the demonic club, posing as demons, and Harry confesses to Macy that the killer is identical to him. Since you have to show demon blood to enter the venue, Harry is forced to wait outside for Macy. Shortly after, Mel and Maggie arrive, and when he confirms her identity, he tells the girls where Macy is. The three then infiltrate the club to help her and later escape.

In "Careful What You Witch For", Harry and Macy manage to save only one witch out of two. He later tries to get Macy to sleep, but she doesn't want to because the killer infiltrates his dreams of her. He and Mel later discover the Sentinel's symbol in the book, and Harry explains who he is to Mel, and the two decide to find him for help. Since it is necessary to access the Astral Plane, Harry explains to Mel that a human anchor is needed to anchor them to the real world and decides to use Katrina Chandra, even if Mel does not agree. Once they manage to reach the Sentinel, and after they explain the situation to him, he agrees to help them, and after making them drink a potion, he declares that once their anchor is touched, they will return to reality and regain their powers. This seems to work, but shortly after, Katrina finds herself covered in worms, and the two deduce that it is a consequence of their trip. Harry deduces that this is a test of moral character to see if they are willing to sacrifice their powers for the life of an innocent. Mel deduces that they are still in the Astral Plane and pass the test, so the Sentinel rewards them by giving them a cipher to decipher the Book of Elders.

In "Deconstructing Harry", Harry found the first Whitelighter, Helen McGantry, and found out that she had an dark version as well, which ultimately led to his own realization. Meanwhile, Mel, Macy, Maggie, and Abigael found their way to the Assassin's lair where he kept dozens of captured magical creatures contained, such as Kyons, Banshees and Griffins. Once they were all released, Harry's Darklighter appeared in front of them posing as his good self and took Macy.

In "The Truth about Kat and Dogs", Harry teams up with Abigael, and she assists him with his memories from when he was James. He realizes that he, as James, cheated on his wife Clara, and he realizes that the reason his Darklighter took Macy was because he had feelings for her, like himself, and he realizes that he and his Darklighter are basically the same person. He then admits to Mel and Maggie his feelings for Macy.

In "When Sparks Fly", Harry dismisses Maggie's idea to go looking for Macy in the area of New York City where they know she is because it's too old to search without more clues anyway. Instead, he accepts her suggestion to have her touch Jordan Chase to get a vision of Macy. The three then go to the surprise karaoke night and notice that Maggie won't be able to get close to Jordan due to his girlfriend's presence. Maggie sees a flash of Macy, so Harry urges her to touch Jordan again and advises them to get the two stuck together in the elevator to make it easier for Maggie. Maggie manages to find out where the Darklighter is, so Harry and Mel go there, but Harry is mistaken for him and is forced to play a poker game against a demon to whom Jimmy owes money. Harry knows nothing about poker, but thanks to Mel's help, he manages to win, but their trick is discovered. However, he manages to overpower the demon and obtain the address of his Darklighter. The two thus reach Macy and return home with her. Harry then goes back to fight Jimmy, despite the contrary opinion of the two witches, and after a hard fight, manages to kill him. However, the fact that he is only half of a person continues to disturb him. He later goes to talk to Marcy and asks her to describe Jimmy to him, and he wonders what kind of person he would be if they hadn't been separated.

In "Past is Present", Harry and Macy urge Maggie to investigate Jordan, and they discover that he has been cursed by a witch. Later, discovering that there are problems in Sacred Grove, he goes there in the company of Maggie and Macy, discovering that the dryads have been massacred and that someone has stolen the fruits that give immunity to magic. There they come across a wounded witch who Harry treats and who reveals to the trio that there was a combined attack by Carnals and Malignants. Suspicious of Abigael, they go to her house to question her, but the demon-witch declares total ignorance of the matter, saying that it was Parker who took possession of fruits and that he became Demon Overlord using their father's name. Harry and Macy later continue to investigate Jordan, and using the Cloning Serum, they make a copy of his ring, but they discover that it has lost all its power, and so they use a spell to discover its history. He later notices that Macy had feelings for his Darklighter. The two discover that an ancestor of Jordan was a witch hunter and was cursed by one of his victims and that the curse affects all his descendants, killing them when they reach the age of twenty-six.

In "The Rules of Engagement", Harry manages to heal Layla after she and her group were attacked by demons, but he resists a counterattack because two witches might still be alive and would die if they counterattacked. When Maggie decides to marry Parker, Harry finds a curse to turn Mel into a fly, and she decides to curse herself to infiltrate behind enemy lines and convince Maggie that she is making a mistake. At the wedding, Harry decides to look for Abigael, deducing that like them, she doesn't want Parker and Maggie to get married, and Macy helps him. Maggie later has a vision of Parker killing Jordan, and the team rushes to stop him. The two men begin to fight, and Abigael stabs him in the back with a dagger. Maggie frantically asks Harry to heal him, but Parker is immune to magic because he ate the apple and disappears into thin air in the form of black smoke. He then thanks Abigael; she kisses him, and he kisses her back, not knowing that Macy sees them from afar.

In "Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle", discovering the return of his Darklighter, Harry goes to face it with Mel and Maggie. Arriving at the motel of Maggie's vision, however, they run into Ray Vera, who is incredulous at seeing his daughters alive. Harry initially believes that it is someone impersonating him, but the two sisters realize that it is him, and Harry agrees to leave them alone with him. Harry then sees a man approaching in a threatening manner and informs the others, and after knocking Ray out, he teleports everyone to the center of the manor. Even though no one wants him there, the three decide to keep Ray with them to find out where he got the chakram, but this means revealing the existence of magic to him. Harry then discovers that Ray sold a talisman of Marisol's on the black market that the chakram also belonged to them, and that they have been hunting Ray for a long time. The Whitelighter finds a box among the man's belongings, and Mel and Maggie open it with a spell, and it reveals that it contains a battering ram that generates a shockwave that engulfs everyone present and disrupts the cloaking over the manor.
Harry and Mel discover that Ray has escaped with the Stone of Atreus, a totem that protected the island of Crete, and that its guardian, the Fury, will recover it at all costs, and they deduce that he is the one following Ray. Harry and Mel rescue Macy, tearing her away from her date, and Harry realizes that she is enjoying it.
Having reached him and Maggie, Harry tells Ray to give the stone to the monster, and when Maggie is attacked, Ray steps in to protect her, but eventually gives it back and the fury goes away. Harry later puts the door back together and tells Macy that the Darklighter's release may be Ray's fault.

In "Dance Like No One is Witching", Harry is infected while fighting a group of Malignants with Mel. He insists that Abigael be contacted. Little later, Abigael suggests that it may be a demonic parasite and knows of an antidote, but she also reveals that if the infection isn't a demonic parasite, the antidote will be fatal. Rather than risk Harry's life, Macy decides to ask Julian Shea for help in analyzing Harry's blood to determine the cause of the infection. In his ill state, Harry attacks Mel before Abigael knocks him out with a sleeping spell. Later, Abigael ends up saving him with the antidote, despite the analysis being incomplete.

Personality[]

A charming Brit, Harry comes off as a little bossy but is dedicated to his job as a Whitelighter. After he lost one of his charges, he became vigilant and protective toward his charges, which made him remarkable enough for the Elders to assign him as the Whitelighter for the Charmed Ones. He becomes close to the Vera sisters and considers them family. He is kind-hearted, nice, and very loyal to the Vera sisters.

After Macy died, Harry went into depression, dismissive of everything and refusing to believe there is another Charmed One who can replace Macy. Eventually, he finds a way to come out of that depression and move on with his life and starts to dedicate himself to helping the dead with his Necrolighter powers.

Physical Appearance[]

Harry is a white man, appearing to be in his mid-late thirties in age, with deep gray eyes and dark brown hair kept in a neat combover style. In the first season, he normally dressed up in suits, but in the second season, he has begun to dress in business casual, including button-up or polo/collared shirts, and blue jeans or slacks.

At the beginning of season four, Harry grew a beard and wore casual clothes, which displayed his depression over losing Macy.

Powers & Abilities[]

Basic Powers
  • Spell Casting: The power to cast spells and perform rituals.
  • Potion Making: The power to brew and concoct potions, remedies and elixirs that have supernatural properties.
Active Powers

  • Necromancy: A branch of divination that allows the user to gain information through the deceased.
    • Mediumship: The ability to communicate with the spirits of the deceased. Harry is shown to be able to channel this power through the hands, emitting a dark magenta, black and ash gray smoke-like energy (reminiscent of his former healing capabilities) through his body by focusing his power through a corpse or the blood of the dead before going into an unconscious trance that allows him to astral project himself into the Veil, a realm where spirits with unfinished business reside. Upon entering the Veil, a set of magical footprints appear on the ground, acting as his passage back to the living world. When returning, if a spirit is touching him, he may bring them into the land of the living in a physical form. However, as this is not a form of resurrection, it's a form of spirit summoning, and so can cause instability to magic until said spirit is returned to the spiritual realm.

Former Powers[]

Harry had all the powers of a Whitelighter with an advantage over the others of his kind. While originally receiving his powers from the Elders and being bound to them, after the Elders stripped him of his powers, Fiona Callahan channelled the power of a Vortex Viribus to restore all of his Whitelighter abilities in "Surrender". Therefore, Harry's powers no longer came from the Elders and he was free of their influence. This also prevented his death at the hands of his Darklighter, unlike the rest of his kind as the rest of Whitelighter-kind were connected to the Elders in life and in death while he was not. So that he can have a happy relationship and grow old with Macy, Harry began the process of relinquishing his Whitelighter powers in "Witchful Thinking". In "The Storm Before the Calm", Harry completed his transformation into a mortal, losing all of his Whitelighter powers. However, in "I Dreamed a Dream…", he had Celeste perform the Whitelighter Resurrection Ritual on him again, regaining his Whitelighter powers in a futile attempt to save a dying Macy. In "Unlucky Charmed", thanks to Roxie, Harry disappeared in an unknown direction and, upon his return in "The Tallyman Cometh", reported that he had given up his Whitelighter powers once again in order to communicate with the dead in an attempt to reach Macy again.

Active Powers
  • Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with the mind. Harry has shown he has sufficient telekinetic strength to move a person, such as when he kidnapped Mel from outside a coffee house, and to catch and set down an object thrown by Macy's own telekinesis.
  • Orbing: The ability to teleport through a white orb. Harry has shown he can bring at least three passengers along with him while orbing but noted it can drain his strength.
  • Conjuration: The ability to materialize objects at will. Harry used this to both conjure a magical bracelet and some rope.
  • Healing: The ability to restore an individual to full health and pristine condition. Harry can heal a great range of wounds and is most commonly seen using his power to heal the Charmed Ones of a variety of wounds. However, Harry's healing is limited - as a being closer to death may take longer to heal or be unable to be healed. When Hunter threw a knife and impaled an Elder, Harry was unable to heal her before she died and faded away. He also cannot heal self-inflicted wounds.
    • Poison Transferal: The ability to transfer poison from one individual to another, including oneself. This ability seems to be a branch of Harry's ability to heal. Harry transferred Darklighter poison from Macy to him (as it could not kill him because of his Immortality). However, while still under the effect of the poison, he was unable to use this ability to save a poisoned witch. It is possible that only Darklighter poison depletes Harry's energy like this and other poisons, like snake poison, wouldn't have the same affect on him. He is also unable to orb properly while still under the effect of the poison.
  • Memory Erasure: The ability to erase the memories of others (might be limited to just human beings). Harry uses this ability to keep the magical world secret from mortals.
Gained powers from Vortex Viribus
  • Temporal Acceleration: The ability to accelerate the flow of time around objects. Harry temporarily tapped into the Vortex Viribus and continued Mel's acceleration of a plant's growth cycle.
Passive Powers
  • Immortality: The ability to live a potentially eternal life.
    • Enhanced Durability: A Whitelighter's immortality means they can survive otherwise lethal injuries. Harry was only minimally harmed and remained conscious after he was pushed from a height of three floors by Hunter Caine. Though this seemingly does not protect Whitelighters from very powerful magical attacks, as Tessa was rather easily killed by Fiona Callahan with an electrokinetic blast.
  • Sensing: Whitelighters possess the ability to locate their charges.
    • Remote Hearing: Harry can hear his name being spoken by the charges he is assigned, wherever the charges may be. Harry can then teleport directly to the charge's location. Since his powers were restored by the Vortex, Harry was unbound to anyone, even the Charmed Ones, however, he can still hear them so it is possible that he bound himself to the Charmed Ones by his choice.
  • Self-Resurrection: The ability to come back to life upon being killed. Harry was able to come back to life after he was killed by his Darklighter.

Abilities[]

  • Magical Knowledge: Harry has a vast amount of magical knowledge which allows him to train the Charmed Ones and to advise them on how to go about certain magical situations.

Weaknesses[]

  • Emotional imbalance: Like witches, Whitelighters' powers are tied to their emotions. Harry couldn't use his powers properly for a long time, because he was tormented by the consequences of torture in Tartarus, and was only able to regain control when he refocused his emotions.
  • Pixie Dust: Everyone (except witches and demons) can be zombified by any pixie.
  • Darklighter Poison: After healing Macy of Darklighter poison, Harry's powers temporarily became unusable. After this, he was unable to orb and couldn't heal another witch of the same poison, causing the witch to die.

Former Weaknesses[]

  • Entomophobia: Harry suffered from a near-crippling fear of insects[15], but later he somehow got rid of this fear.[16]
  • Link to the Elders: The Elders bestowed Harry's powers, and could remove them too. However, while they removed his powers, the Vortex Viribus was able to restore them, which made Harry a free Whitelighter from any connection with the Elders. This allowed him to survive (unlike any other Whitelighter) after the Elders died.

Relationships[]

Charges[]

  • Harry and Macy Vaughn: Harry and Macy have a good relationship. Harry appreciates that Macy respects him as her Whitelighter and finds her to be the most agreeable to work with. Harry has in fact confessed that he has romantic feelings for Macy.
  • Harry and Mel Vera: Harry respects Mel but has a difficult relationship with her due to the fact that he replaced her mother as Chair of the Women's Studies Department. He tries to guide her and help her but her independence and stubbornness do not make the situation easy. The two were able to come to an understanding when Harry revealed that he had a charge just like Mel and that he didn't want to lose her like he lost Fiona.
  • Harry and Maggie Vera: Harry mentors Maggie the most out of her sisters due to her young age. He taught her to trust her intuition and her own voice so she could control her ability and he also explained how magic for personal gain leads to personal consequences. They also have a good relationship as friends.
  • Harry and Fiona Callahan: Harry lost his charge when she revealed her secret to someone she shouldn't have trusted. This loss shaped him into the Whitelighter and protector that he is today.

Romantic Life[]

  • Harry and Macy Vaughn: Aside from being Macy's Whitelighter, Harry has confessed that he has romantic feelings for Macy. When Harry's Darklighter appears and takes an obvious interest in Macy, a jealous Harry admit his feelings for Macy to her sisters. Macy also starts to see Harry in a new way but their road is paved with a lot of insecurities and miscommunications. After several months of being at odds, they rekindle their bond and friendship and eventually share a kiss and a passionate night and morning together. However, Harry later sees that his feelings for Macy threaten his duty as Whitelighter of the Charmed Ones and he asks Maggie to use her powers and rid him of his feelings for Macy.
  • Harry and Abigael Jameson-Caine: Abigael makes a couple advances at Harry and later, while pretending to be under the effect of the truth serum, she admits to Maggie that she's attracted to him and wishes to corrupt him in a sexual way.
  • Harry and Charity Callahan: In the past, they broke up after a mysterious tragedy that happened to Fiona Callahan. Now Harry and Charity try to keep business relations, but it is obvious that their old feelings are still not forgotten by them.
  • Harry and Clara Westwell: Before his death and becoming a Whitelighter, Harry was married to Clara Westwell and had a son with her.

Friendships[]

  • Harry and Jordan Chase: After Jordan found out the Veras were witches, he occasionally went on missions with Harry to help them. After Macy died, Jordan and Harry started to bond. Jordan even called their friendship a brotherhood.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • Harry is the rebooted Charmed series counterpart of Leo Wyatt, the Whitelighter of the Charmed Ones in the original series. Similarly to Leo, who eventually began a relationship with Charmed One Piper Halliwell, Harry eventually established a relationship with Charmed One Macy Vaughn. It is also possible that Harry could also be based on Chris Halliwell from the original series, Leo and Piper's younger son from the future who briefly served as the Charmed Ones' Whitelighter when his father became an Elder.
  • It is possible that Harry was named after Henry Mitchell from the original series, the husband of Charmed One Paige Matthews. 'Harry' is sometimes considered a shortened version or nickname of 'Henry', so it is a possibility.
  • Harry could also potentially be based on Harry Potter, the main character of the Harry Potter book and film series, as they are both British and share the same first name. His given human name was James which is the middle name of the main protagonist of the Wizarding World, as well as his father's first name.
    • Additionally, the visual effects of Harry's Orbing power, and by extension every other Whitelighters' in the series, are nearly identical to the effects of the power Apparition, a form of teleportation as well, of the Harry Potter films, with the main difference being that the Whitelighters' Orbing emits a white light for a brief moment.
  • It appears that Harry did not have to hide who he really is from his charges the way Leo did when he first met the Halliwell Charmed Ones. Harry was the one to reveal to the Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones their destiny as the most powerful trio of witches and his duty as their Whitelighter, while the Halliwell sisters of the original series found out about their destiny as witches on their own and later found out about Leo's status as a Whitelighter when Phoebe Halliwell accidentally walked in on him using his powers.
  • In "Pilot", Marisol Vera's spirit speaks to her daughters through a spirit board, telling them not to trust Harry. It turns out in "Let This Mother Out" that this was not actually Marisol's spirit but a demon impersonating her who wanted to steal the girls' powers.
  • The Vera-Vaughn sisters initially nicknamed Harry 'Meghan Markle' due to believing he would come to them every time they said his name. In real life, Meghan Markle, now 'Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex' is married to Prince Harry.
  • Harry was seen battling a demon and even getting ready to vanquish one himself. It would seem that the Whitelighters in this show are no longer pacifistic and can engage with evil themselves as they were in the original series.
  • Since it is revealed in "Sweet Tooth" that Fiona Callahan is a former charge of Harry's, it is also possible that, as Fiona's sister, Charity Callahan is also one of his former charges. However, this was never directly specified. If this is true, this could explain how Harry and Charity became close and eventually began a forbidden relationship.
  • As of "Other Women", the Charmed Ones considered Harry to be like family. In the original series, Leo was also considered family but eventually, he became actually part of the family when he married Charmed One, Piper Halliwell.
  • "The Replacement" marks the first episode in which Harry, one of the main characters, does not appear. As of this episode, the only main characters to appear in every episode are Macy Vaughn, Mel Vera, and Maggie Vera.
  • In "The Truth about Kat and Dogs", Harry confessed that he has romantic feelings for Macy.
  • Harry suffers from entomophobia, the fear of insects.
