References to the Original Charmed[]
- Harry Greenwood runs into a banshee in the Veil. In the original series, the Charmed Ones went up against a banshee who was targeting grieving people across the city.
- The original Book of Shadows was taken by a troll in order to help the Unseen restore the Lost One. In the original series, evil trying to steal the Book of Shadows was a recurring element with several successful attempts. However, it was usually much harder for opposing forces to get their hands on the Book of Shadows.
- Kaela Danso managed to manifest a door onto a wall in order to enter SafeSpace, Seattle without alerting the Unseen or being blocked by the Containment Spell. In the original series, during a trip to the future, Prue and Piper Halliwell used a spell, To Create a Door, to do a similar feat in order to enter a prison.
- Dev refusing to back down is similar to the Original series episode, "Deja Vu All Over Again" in which Andy Trudeau refused to listen to Prue when she told him to protect himself by staying out of their fight with Inspector Rodriguez. This resulted in his death as he protected the Halliwell Sisters who were taken hostage in their own house.
- Also similar to the same episode, Kaela avenged her lover's death by vanquishing his killer. However, unlike Prue who did it in self defense afterwards, Kaela mostly did it out of anger and ruthlessness, though Sunny did threaten her life as well.
- The episode ends with Maggie and Mel comforting Kaela, who is grieving over the death of Dev. Similarly, in "Long Live the Queen", the episode ended with Piper and Paige comforting Phoebe after they vanquished Cole.
- The Unseen break into SafeSpace, and keep the sisters hostage, whilst also negating their powers. In the original episode "Scry Hard", Zankou infiltrated the Manor with his minions, forcing the sisters to sneak in, and not use any magic, in case he could sense them.
- Maggie attacked one of the Unseen by kicking him, while hanging from the top of the doorway. Phoebe also did the same thing to a demon in the same episode.
Production Notes[]
- The episode was watched by 0.30 million U.S. viewers.
- Natasha Henstridge joins the recurring cast starting with this episode.
