Early Life[]
Sometime between 2021-2022 after the death of Macy Vaughn, Kaela began having dreams about Mel and her half-sister, Maggie Vera.

In "Not That Girl", Mel' was magically transported from the Blue Camellia to Philadelphia moments after Maggie was directed there by the Witch Board in the Command Center. Mel was initially confused on why she was there instead of the candles taking her straight home, but she figured it out when she met Kaela who almost ran Maggie over on the street. As Kaela's yelling at Maggie, Mel found a triquetra grafittied on the side of Kaela's bus. She asked how Kaela knew about that symbol, but doesn't get an answer as Kaela suddenly recognized her and Maggie from her dreams and her drawings. The three briefly notice the lightning flashing in the sky as the Power of Three was reawakening before Kaela ran back into her bus. As Mel and Maggie were talking about how to ease Kaela into their magical world, Kaela was portaled to the Command Center after unwittingly manifesting a marble from one of her paintings. She found herself in SafeSpace where Mel and Maggie found her talking to Harry Greenwood. Later on after Kaela overcomes her dismal of magic, Mel invited her to come live in the Vera Manor with her and Maggie, while Maggie told Kaela about Macy. Slightly overwhelmed, Kaela goes back to Philly not ready to be a Charmed One.
In "You Can't Go Home Again", Mel calls and leaves messages for Kaela a dozen times with the latter ignoring all of them. When Mel saw Kaela's light turn red, she rushes to Philadelphia to protect her, much to the girl's chagrin. After saving Kaela from a Vittra, Kaela decides to move to Seattle and find out what her role is in the magical world.
Mel surprises Kaela by moving her bus into the Vera Manor backyard. Kaela gives her a tour.
In "Unlucky Charmed", Kaela gets attacked by a lamia, who finds her holding her egg and assumes her to be the thief. Upon finding Kaela gone, Mel, Maggie, and Jordan go to find her and confront the lamia, only to find out the Tallyman stole it to pin them against each other and then make the lamia explode.
In "Ripples", after Maggie's arrest for assaulting a man who was harassing her on the street, Mel wishes to take her sister away for relaxation. Kaela then suggests they leave her to take care of the front while they go to Ripples for a spa day. Mel then leaves her with the needed tools and instructions. After a disastrous day, Mel, Kaela and Maggie enjoy a quiet evening in the manor together.
In "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Sandwich", Mel accidentally sends Maggie and Kaela to 1926 in their attempt to stop a vengeful Donnie Hoblinka from trying to blow up the Blue Camellia. Kaela and Maggie later combine their efforts to alert Mel to their location in time and she brings them back in time to stop Donnie and Sunny. Later, Mel, Maggie, and Kaela use the Filiation Frame to reveal Kaela's parents. To their surprise, her parents' appearances are unfamiliar to them.
In "The Tallyman Cometh", the Vera-Danso Charmed Ones receive a package from the Tallyman with a message saying that they need to solve a riddle to save hundreds of innocents. While Maggie goes to her therapy, Mel and Kaela work together to solve what the box contains. They first go to the Blue Camellia where they try to ask Dev, but he has completely distrusted them due to the negative rumors and videos across the magical community of their wrongdoings. Back at the Command Center, Mel suggests using the Tongue of Babel to translate the music box's frequency. When they realize and sing "Jolly Good Fellow", the box opens a secret compartment containing three tickets to a movie theater in Alburquerque. Once there, they realize they have been tricked as there were no innocents to be saved. Mel gets bitten by a robotic spider. Kaela brings it back to the Command Center, where they learn the machine is a bomb. With Maggie's help, they locate the area where the bombing would happen and Kaela manages to convince Dev to help them stop it. That night, the three sisters sit together in the backyard.
In "Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my…", Maggie gets a vision of Sunny trying to resurrect the Lost One. Mel goes to research on pink moons while Kaela is left to deal with her "mother", who later turns out to be Sunny in a magical glamour. After a full day of events, the sisters arrive in the ruins of ancient Persia. Mel and Kaela stop the ritual while Maggie keeps Sunny distracted. Later that night, the sisters discuss using the Provenance Spell to help Kaela figure out whom her biological parents are. The sisters enjoy the quiet moment together in the kitchen.
In "Unveiled", after a full day of events, the sisters sit together in the backyard.
In "Truth or Cares", Mel, Kaela and Dev stake out a deserted church, where they find Sunny alive and moving. Mel and Kaela enter the church to confront her, but then Sunny uses the Pressurized Mumford Trap to trap them. Kaela manages to escape with Dev's help, but Mel is stuck with Sunny. Kaela and Dev manage to make the antidote to free them, but Sunny holds Mel hostage as soon as they are out. Kaela manifests a dagger in Mel's hand while Sunny is distracted, but Mel lets her go. That night, the sisters sit together in the backyard. Maggie sees a cup from when Kaela participated in the Progenitor Project for her cancer, and realizes that Kaela is connected to them through Macy: she had donated her stem cells in the hope of saving her dying father Dexter, some of which went to Kaela, and when she died, the stem cells in Kaela gave her magic and role within the Power of Three. This means that they are both chosen and biological sisters through the project.
In "Hashing It Out", Mel and Maggie are attacked by the Unseen in the Command Center. Their powers are blocked by a blocker. Mel manages to call Kaela for help before Sunny cuts off the line. Kaela and Dev arrive to help save Mel being held hostage. Dev takes out the blocker, which restores the sisters' powers, but is killed by Sunny. Kaela, upon finding Dev dead, kills Sunny for revenge. That night, Kaela opens Dev's gift: an enchanted teapot. When she uses it, it emits Dev's singing voice, causing Kaela to burst into tears, and Mel and Maggie comfort her.
In "Divine Secrets of the O.G. Sisterhood", Kaela abandons the sisterhood. Mel and Maggie go separate ways to deal with other problems. That night, they all learn what the Unseen is planning and come back together. Unfortunately, their efforts prove futile when the resurrected Inara drinks from the Unity Bowl and steals the Power of Three from the Vera-Danso sisters, then breaks the bowl to cast a powerful spell that engulfs the sisters.
In "Be Kind. Rewind.", Kaela breaks out of Inara's spell with Harry's help. She in turn breaks Mel and Maggie out of it, and they start planning a way to fix the world. While Maggie goes to enlist Jordan for help, Mel and Kaela work together to find ingredients for the Skeleton Key Spell. They narrowly escape Inara with Harry's help, then come up with a plan to distract Inara long enough to sneak into the Command Center and restore their powers. Unfortunately, Inara kills Mel before they can do anything. Kaela and Maggie escape back to Vera Manor with Harry's help. Maggie mimics Mel's time powers to send a video tape Kaela manifested to send a message to their past selves.
In "The End Is Never The End", after watching the tape and finding out what happens, Mel goes to intercept Kaela on the road and convinces her to come back with her to stop the Unseen. Kaela wants to forget everything that happened, and Mel adds that she wishes for Dev, Macy, and her mom to be alive. She then tells her that the Unseen is plotting to take away everything and everyone they care about. This convinces her to return to help. After stopping the resurrection ritual and retrieving the Book of Shadows and the Unity Bowl, the sisters realize Inara is planning something else. In hopes of having a better chance against her, Maggie and Jordan head off to find Ishta while Kaela and Mel find Ishani. They trace her to a bowling alley where she refuses to help. Kaela challenges her to a bowling challenge, but Ishta turns out to be an excellent bowler. Mel convinces Ishani to help them so she may get over her guilt of burying her sister alive.
After a bad confrontation between the current and original Charmed Ones, Mel lectures them for being the sisterhood that ruins the world. The Nebron Root Bomb goes off and prepares to destroy all magical creatures. Mel, Maggie, and Kaela take on the energy, ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the world, but Ishta, Inara and Ishani intercept the bomb's energy and sacrifice themselves.
Three months later, Mel, Maggie, and Kaela receive a message from Diana and venture to another universe where they end up on the front porch of Halliwell manor and enter the house together.
