The relationship between the Charmed Ones and half-sisters, Melanie "Mel" Vera and Margarita "Maggie" Vera.
After Marisol dies, Mel and Maggie have a falling out with Mel blaming Maggie for it. After they met Macy Vaughn and became the Charmed Ones, their relationship was restored. After Macy dies, Mel and Maggie slowly grow apart until they meet Kaela Danso, the new Charmed One. Their relationship starts to mend from then on.
History[]
Early Life[]
Mel and Maggie have been living together with their parents since they were small. When Mel turned twelve, her parents threw her a party at a carnival. Maggie cried when they rode the carousel because her horse didn't lift or lower. When Maggie turned five, their father Ray walked out of the house and left the family forever.
For a time, Maggie became depressed and started having panic attacks until Marisol took her to therapy. At one point, Ray had promised to take Maggie to a ballet recital, but he never showed up. The next day, Mel secretly bought a jewelry box and passed it off as Ray's apology present to cheer her sister up.
As they grew older, their bond strengthened. Marisol frequently reminded them that they were better together, their differences were their strengths and nothing was stronger than their sisterhood.
Throughout the Series[]
In "Pilot", before going out, Marisol sits down with Mel and Maggie and gives a speech saying how the two are special young women; reminding them that even though they are special in their own ways, they are better together, their differences are their strengths, and nothing is stronger than their sisterhood, and they need to nurture that.
The two sisters ignore what she said and just think it is her usual self and leave the house to go out.
After a frantic text orders them to come home, Maggie and Mel discover their mother dead outside an open attic window. This death is determined to be accidental by the authorities. However, Mel, in her anger, blames Maggie for Marisol's death seeing as if she didn't have to make a pit stop to get her, Marisol would most likely have been alive. Maggie leaves home for a chance to join Kappa, a sorority at Hilltowne University since she found living with Mel unbearable. They made up three months later and they found out about Macy in addition to them being witches.
In "Let This Mother Out", Maggie feels inferior because her power is reading minds while Mel's and Macy's are more active. When Mel and Maggie make contact with their "mother" using the Spirit Board, Macy breaks it to stop them from attracting unintended evil. Later, Mel and Maggie reconstruct the spirit board and allow their "mother" to come through. With Macy, the three are convinced Harry is the one who killed her and go off to find the Prism of Souls. However, Maggie starts to suspect Marisol is not who she says she is. When they return and see Harry and "Marisol" fighting, Macy holds Harry at knifepoint while Mel wants to give the Prism to "Marisol". Maggie, not believing "Marisol", tells Mel to listen to her. Mel realizes "Marisol" is a fake when she told her "it's always been you and me". While Mel keeps her frozen, Maggie vanquishes her by showing her reflection with her phone. Mel and Maggie later decorate Macy's bedroom to make her feel more at home.

Trip dies when an unhinged pipe sends a fatal blow to his head.

The two sisters investigate Brenda further, going to visit Jenna Gordonson to find out what she did to get kicked out of the sorority. They later realize Brenda is targeting Lucy and rush to save her. After stopping the ghost and saving Lucy, Mel and Maggie talk about their individual issues.

Angry, hurt and confused, the three begin to argue. After having a talk with Lucy, Maggie realized her family drama didn't matter and made up with her sisters while dealing with the Maestro. Mel and Macy also apologized for the way they treated each other.
Later that night, Macy wants to show Maggie their parents' letters. Macy invites Mel to join them, but she feels this is something they should do on their own.
In "You're Dead to Me", Maggie shows Mel the letter that made them realize Macy was resurrected at infancy. Maggie finds out Mel ran into Niko, her ex-girlfriend, who had become a private investigator instead of a cop. Maggie discourages her to get involved with Niko again.
In "Manic Pixie Nightmare", Maggie reads Mel's mind to find out why she came home with "sex hair", something Mel wants to avoid discussing. She worries Mel may be clouded in judgment because of Jada. Maggie later tells Mel and Harry what she figured out about Chloe Periwinkle. She is targeting white male students of the film department, World Cinema 201. They later douse Zack's drink with a dose of Protection Potion, which later shields him from Mel's power. They later figure out Zack is controlling Chloe through her external heart. They stop him together with Macy's help.
In "Touched by a Demon", Macy accidentally burns her hand but feels no pain. Harry believes her demonic side is presenting itself and wants to take her to Charity for closer inspection and Maggie agrees. Mel, however, distrusts her and disagrees. The conversation heats until Macy tells everyone to stop and storms up to the attic to be alone.
When Maggie later comes home and finds Harry and Macy trapped inside a TV show, she calls Mel for help. Mel takes the angel brothers back to the house where the sisters work on an Escape Oil. Mel uses her newly-acquired Temporal Acceleration to make it age two weeks. They successfully save Harry and Macy and sent Gideon and Levi back.
In "Switches & Stones", Mel and Maggie get into a fight. Maggie worries that her sister is in too deep with the Sarcana, and Mel thinks joining the sorority again is shallow and unworthy of her time. Maggie, having touched a rune from the Vortex Viribus earlier, accidentally switches bodies with Mel, and they spend the whole day impersonating each other. Mel gets kidnapped to a Kappa rush party while Maggie goes to meet Jada and learns about Fiona. Maggie figures out how to use Mel's power while fighting Medusa. After Medusa disappeared, Mel exposed the Phi Delt boys for heinous things they did to Lucy, Maggie and Mel talk back home. They validate each other's decisions and feelings. Mel finally learns to control Maggie's power and they switch back to their own bodies.
In "Memento Mori", worried for Macy, Mel and Maggie talk with Julia Wagner to figure out why her demonic side is self-harming. They become more suspicious of Charity as she keeps tabs on Macy on an almost obsessive level. They later realize Charity has lied to them and run back home, only to find Macy and Charity missing, and Harry can no longer hear their calls. They reach Macy in time to save her and stop Charity. Macy shows her sisters Marisol's death through the Evil Sight.
In "Surrender", Maggie falls under Viralis's mind control and attacks Mel. Mel manages to fend her off long enough for Macy to vanquish the demon.
In "The Replacement", Maggie and Mel go to Mama Roz's shop and find her dead. Their new Whitelighter Tessa also shows up. They search through her shop until they find Mama Roz's Dagger. Maggie goes to a threshold and hears Galvin's voice. They realize Galvin has been possessed by an Abiku demon and wants to possess Macy. They rush to her escape. Macy manages to expel the demon out of Galvin's body, but then the demon kidnaps her. Mel and Maggie rush back to the house with Tessa's help and destroy the demon together.
In "Source Material", Maggie runs into Mel and Niko on her way to Parker Caine's dorm room. They (with Macy) later save Harry from Fiona's control with Tessa's willing sacrifice.
In "Ambush", as Macy's demonic side gets stronger, she becomes more aggressive. Mel and Maggie worry that she may be losing control. They fight Hunter, but lose most Elders until only Devorah Silver is left. Macy wants to use her Evil Sight to find out why Hunter is so much more powerful than before, but Mel doesn't allow it. She begins to break Priyanka Bari's Needle until Macy telekinetically throws her across the room, losing control over herself until Maggie calls her back. They open an armory hidden underneath the house where Marisol's hologram instructs her daughters how to use their new weapons in battle. With their new weapons, they fight and successfully vanquish Hunter but also unintentionally releases the Harbinger of Hell's virus.
In "Red Rain", Maggie and Harry find Charity at the Gardens of Latebra. Harry then goes to pick up Mel to help protect Charity. Mel is so angry at Charity for trying to use an Akkadian Smokescreen spell that she wants to blast at her until Harry and Maggie remind her they need to protect her to keep the prophecy from happening. A corrupted Parker shows up, and Maggie and Mel are forced to fight him together.
They are both in the house when Harry tells them Charity has been killed by her own sister. Maggie gets kidnapped by Alastor, and Mel, Macy and Harry go to save her. They witness Fiona's demise and Macy taking in the Flame to become the Source to save Maggie. Mel and Maggie want to talk to Macy about her new powers, but she teleports away.
In "The Source Awakens", Mel and Maggie worry about Macy's new powers. Their worries increase when they see Galvin alive even though he sacrificed himself to save those infected by the Harbinger. Macy realizes their worries are never gonna ease unless they had their mother, so she alters reality to a point where Marisol is alive. However, when she approaches Marisol, she dies. Mel and Maggie, not recognizing their sister, accuse her of being a demon. Mel vehemently barks at her to get out, further upsetting Macy.
When Macy changes reality again, Maggie is left without Mel, living in the dorms away from Marisol and Macy, and Mel lives in Seattle. She encounters Harry, and their memories of the original timeline start to flood their brains. Mel and Harry restore their memories to stabilize them and then find Maggie to do the same. They try to use the Prism of Souls to strip Macy of her Source powers, but Macy figures them out and destroys it then magically chokes Mel. Harry takes them to safety. Unfortunately, Macy accidentally kills Marisol when she teleports back to the house and unleashes a blast that sends her out the attic window. Horrified and distraught by her twisted existence, she alters reality again, this time with Macy dead. Mel, Maggie and Harry still remember the true timeline. They inform Marisol what happened, and she shows them the spell Balance Restoration and instructs Mel to use her Time Bracelet to return them to the exact moment when the Power of Three broke in order to save it. After much effort, they convinced Macy to believe in their sisterhood and to give up her Source powers. They cast a spell to transfer the Source into Macy's Yin Yang Pendant which breaks into three pieces that they hide in different parts of the world and have Harry wipe their memories.
After visiting Marisol's grave and attending Galvin's funeral, the magical community comes to them and they learnt that they now hold the responsibility to take over governing the magical world.
In "Safe Space", Mel is annoyed by the fact that Maggie doesn't want to be in charge of the magical world and Macy has accepted a new job. The next morning, a Darklighter crashes through the front door and attacks the sisters. Despite their best efforts, they are unable to fight the enemy, and when they try to grab the Book of Shadows, the Darklighter burns it to ashes. The destruction sends a shockwave that knocks the Darklighter back and opens a portal for the sisters to escape. Out of options, Maggie and Mel jump into the portal, followed by Macy. Seconds after arriving, their witch powers are stripped by the Command Center. They find themselves in a new and unfamiliar city. When they sneak back inside the Command Center, they see two red dots alert on the witchboard and use the board to find the place. To their surprise, the red dots were an alert of two witches in danger. Mel and Maggie try to fight off the Rat Demons invading the place but without their powers, it proves nearly impossible. Macy taps into her demonic side and unleashes a stream of fire that burns one of the demons before she passes out from Darklighter Poison. Harry finally finds them and saves Macy, but is rendered almost completely powerless by the poison he transferred from Macy.
In "Things to Do in Seattle When You're Dead", Mel is upset that she and Maggie are now powerless and unable to help. Maggie finds out online that their father had died of a heart attack and wants to attend his funeral. Mel is against the idea, dismissive of his treatment toward them over the years. Mel later realizes Maggie went to attend the funeral alone and follows, arriving in time to save her from Harry's Darklighter.

In "The Truth about Kat and Dogs", Mel and Maggie work hard to find Macy, but she is nowhere to be found. Desperate, Mel suggests they try a powerful tracking spell, the "Absum Veri Spell". Because they keep getting the ingredients wrong, a hellhound chases after them and grows larger and more vicious with every wrong mix. Mel receives a text message from Kat telling her that what they look for is in between the sheets. They search through the sheets in Macy's bedroom until they find her journal with Harry's drawing in it. Realizing it may be Harry their sister really wants and denies herself, they try the spell one more time before the hellhound breaks through the wall. They finish it in time to tame the monster, who gives them coordinates. They learn Macy is in New York. Harry later tells them the one who took Macy is his Darklighter: his evil half.
In "When Sparks Fly", Mel and Maggie try to find more information on Macy's whereabouts. In "Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle", Mel and Maggie get better control over their new powers, while Macy fails to restore hers despite multiple attempts. Mel worries Maggie may be getting too close to Jordan, which annoys Maggie. When the latter gets a premonition of a place in Las Vegas, the two go with Harry, positive they would find the Darklighter there. To their surprise, they find their supposedly-dead father, Ray Vera. Maggie gets so mad that she hits him with her baton. They find a chakram the Darklighter used and learn their father is a thief who sells ancient relics in the black market, and caught the attention of someone dangerous. When Harry spots a mysterious person outside the motel, he knocks Ray unconscious and takes them all back to the house.
They decide to tell him that they are witches and their mother was a witch. Mel convinces him by demonstrating her power. Macy comes home then and they introduce their sister to their father.

When Maggie admits to having a panic attack, Ray tells her that she had them when she was little and Marisol took her to therapy to help her, but she never found out it was therapy. Angry, Maggie berates Mel and Ray for not telling her the truth because they thought she was too weak to handle it. The outburst makes her accidentally unleash her new power: Emotional Inception. They confirm Macy's boyfriend Julian Shea has been organizing the capture of many magical creatures.

In "You Can't Go Home Again", Maggie tells Mel to respect Kaela's choice of her not joining them Maggie also gets annoyed by Mel's theory finding it unlikely that their mother got pregnant in 1995 and giving up a baby in Philadelphia partially because Maggie was born from an affair herself.
When they realize Kaela may be in danger, Mel rushes to her aid. This angers her. Maggie follows soon after and takes her away. They agree to make sure she is safe before they leave. Maggie realizes a Vittra is after Kaela and rushes to Mel, who is watching Kaela from a distance. When they look back, Kaela is gone. At the end of the day, the two sisters reconcile (later joined by Kaela) and they barge into the cave to witness members of the Unseen sacrificing themselves. The Lost One reveals itself: it's Inara, one of the original Charmed Ones. In "The End Is Never The End", back to the events that took place in "Divine Secrets of the O.G. Sisterhood", Joséfina shows Mel and Maggie the tape that future Maggie sent them to warn them what will happen. They then devise a plan to change the outcome: Mel goes to find Kaela and convince her to come back; Maggie intercepts Jordan before he runs into Chloe; and Joséfina goes to find Harry.
Three months after stopping the Nebron Root Bomb from destroying the magical world, Mel and Maggie talk about the latter's decision to move in with Jordan. Mel encourages Maggie to do it.
