  • Hey Starforce,

I was looking at the outline for the character pages but I noticed that most of the outline doesn't fit most of the character's pages. Can we make some changes and put it in the order of history, personality, physical appearance, powers and abilities, and everything stays the same after that?

    • I have updated it to match the order you suggested. Let me know if anything else.

    • Duplicate images are not really a problem since they don't affect people using the wiki in anyway.

Sometimes, even I actually intentionally upload different variations of the same scene so that people can choose whichever version they prefer... or just for the sake of making different versions available on Google. Like if you look at the Mel and Jada Kiss gifs, they're all different variations.

  • Hi Starforce,

I was trying to use the infobox for cast members but I'm having issues pulling up the infoxbox. Also, when the infobox issue is fixed, should we use that same infobox for crew members, too?

    • No worries. It's my pleasure.

And yes, their official names are Maggie Vera and Macy Vaughn. They're not Vera-Vaughns. If they ever decide to become Vera-Vaughns, we will change it then.

  • For Alastor's page, could there be tab in the infobox to include both the human form image and the true/demonic form image?

I know I brought this up before and no one else seems to have a problem with it, but is it absolutely necessary to have both the article and the category page for the same thing in the same category page? It seems too excessive and repetitive.

    • That's necessary for people who want to see the individual members of that species. Someone might want to see all of the species within the show, then find a species they want to learn about and click on that category to see the individual members.

I think you'll better understand if you tried to think of it from the point of view who isn't familiar with wikia and doesn't know much about Charmed in the first place.

    • Yes, Badwitch put it correctly. If you're not familiar with the show and you're looking at the "Witches" page, you might want to :

      • See the individual witches which is why it belongs to "Witches" category OR
      • See other species, which is why it belongs to the "Species" category.

Not placing "Witches" page under "Witches" category would add unnecessary navigation steps for someone exploring the show to go to individual witches from the witches page. It's not repetitive. It helps with organization. I know personally if I'm reading about witches, I'm more likely to take a look at individual witches than read about ghosts. Better organization on the internet content involves keeping related things together.

  • Hey Starforce,

I was just wondering how do you get your gifs and images? I made some gifs from YouTube clips but I was wondering if there were a better way? I also wanted to ask what do you want to do with Alistair's page name? His real name is Alastor but someone on the wiki suggested having "Alastor (Alistair Caine)

    • For GIFs, I take lots of screenshots on my laptop when playing the show from the CW website or from YouTube TV. I then use some of the gif applications to join the screenshots into an image.

I think for now we can just keep the page name as "Alastor" and keep Alastair Caine as just a redirect... like how we have with Taydeus and Professor Thaine. But both names can be used interchangeably.

  • While the images in the character infoboxes are fine and work, I personally think the images could be more updated from more recent episodes. What do you think?

    • As long as it's a high quality image, square-ish and doesn't have much in the background besides the character face and upper body, it should be fine to update.

For the characters with official CW releases - like the sisters' pages - we should keep their current images and not replace them with episode screenshots.

  • How do we get a page deleted?

Parker has never teleported and this page was created erroneously.

In general this wiki needs a far higher standard of accuracy. People are adding whatever they feel like, and much of it is specualtion or assumption.

    • He could've just as easily been teleporting instead of phasing with everyone believing that it was phasing. He could've phased one time in the episode and teleported after. Either way, it looks the same.

    • It could be both. Because I think it would be weird if the shadow just walked on the street. But let's wait until it's clear that the shadow can teleport too. He's a main character now; so, it probably won't take long before we know if he can teleport.

  • Hey Starforce,

I was wondering for species pages (like Gods, Witches, Whitelighters, etc.), should they be listed under the species category? They were removed from that category but I feel like they should remain so all the species exist underneath one page.

Also, for hybrids like Jada and Parker, should they be listed underneath both species categories (ex. Jada underneath both whitelighters and witches)?

    • If you don't want them in both, it makes more sense to keep the actual species pages under the actual species category and just remove the categories of the same names. The witch category should just list people that are witches and etc.

    • Okay, so just a clarification:

      • When someone is on the Demons species page, they might want to quickly get to see all pages about Demons. So, that's why the Demons page would need to also belong to the "Demons" category in addition to being a "Species" category. This makes it easier to get to all the related pages about that species... which is why categories are used.
      • But the "Demons" category page doesn't need to be also under Demons category. It already has a list of all demon pages.

Same thing applies to powers, spells etc. The Powers and List of Magical Powers pages should also belong to the Powers category to make it easier for readers to get to all the actual powers pages.

  • Under your consent, is it okay to create a page for Galvin and Summer?

  • Can Melinda Warren's page be unlocked? I just wanted to add a quote from the Book that said "a legendary witch born of two mortals".
