Nolan Moore[1] was a gremlin killed by his own brother, the Tallyman. His ghost is now stuck in the Veil.

History[]

Early Life[]

Nolan was born into a proud family of gremlins and had a mother and a younger brother, Quentin.

He was dissatisfied with his brother's limited abilities and, when Quentin was 18 years old, decided to help him develop his power. Nevertheless, Nolan's actions not only did not help but also caused his brother physical and mental trauma.[2]

Between 2021 and 2022, Nolan was murdered by his unstable brother in their family home. His corpse was embalmed and remained in the house for many months while his ghost fell into the Veil for his unfinished business. At some point, the Lost One took advantage of Nolan's death to inhabit his corpse and began to influence Quentin to make him do what the monster wants.[1]

Throughout the Series[]

In "Ripples", after chasing the Tallyman into the aromatherapy room of the magical spa, Ripples, Mel Vera accidentally saw one of his "happy" memories when he was 18 years old. In a flashback, young Nolan tried to teach his younger brother to develop his powers. However, in the end, Quentin's arm was crushed, and Nolan watched this with cold disappointment.

In "Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my…", Maggie Vera and Harry Greenwood discover his mummified body and take it back to the Command Center as Maggie got the creeps from the murder site. Harry goes into the Veil and meets Nolan's spirit, who reveals he is the older brother of the Tallyman who killed him in their family home. He also revealed that some ancient cursed evil had taken possession of his corpse to influence Quentin. Later, Nolan and other angry spirits tried to prevent Maggie and Harry from leaving the Veil to return to the world of the living instead, but were stopped by the Guardian.

In "Divine Secrets of the O.G. Sisterhood", he was mentioned by Jordan Chase when he and Maggie were explaining how the Lost One recruited her followers.

Personality[]

It seems that since his youth, Nolan has been a narcissistic and proud person who believed in the superiority of his species and even the very idea that there might be some weaknesses was absolutely unacceptable to him. It is also clear that he was cruel and heartless when he coldly and disappointedly watched the suffering of his brother, who could not meet his expectations and cope with a woodchipper. It seems that Nolan also lacked any self-criticism, because even after his death he did not repent at all for his act and did not even see that he had caused any harm by considering his brother unthankful.

Physical Appearance[]

In his youth, he was shown as a handsome tall dark-haired white man with brown eyes.

In adulthood, all these attributes were preserved, but after becoming a ghost, he acquired a deathly pallor. In death, his body was preserved by his younger brother and left in a mummified state.

Powers and Abilities[]

Active Powers
  • Technopathy: The defining power of gremlins. Gremlins have the ability to manipulate machinery, such as a woodchipper. Nolan was able to stick his arm in one of these and prevent the machine from tearing it to shreds.

Trivia[]

  • The unfinished business that has Nolan's spirit stuck in the Veil was never revealed. Also, in "The End Is Never The End", the Necrolighter Harry found his new purpose (to help restless souls). However, it remains unknown whether Harry was ever able to help Nolan find peace and move on.
  • In "Divine Secrets of the O.G. Sisterhood", there is an error when Jordan says that the Tallyman used his dead brother. In fact, it was the Lost One who used Nolan's corpse to influence Quentin.
