The protective candles are candles that were enchanted using a combination of Elder magic and Brujería to provide protection against the Perfecti.
Overview[]
This enchantment was originally created to protect the Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones from the Perfecti. The enchantment requires for the candles to be black and an incantation to be cast. As long as the candles burn, their magic will remain effective. However, unlike the Candlelight Enchantment, the flames can be easily blown out. The candles can provide both cloaking protection and neutralize the powers of Mo and Aladria.
History[]
In "Perfecti Is the Enemy of Good", Mel Vera enchanted twelve of these candles to protect them from the Perfecti. While looking for ingredients in the Command Center, her candle extinguished due to the wind, allowing the Perfecti to arrive and emit a frequency of sound in Mel's brain so high that it would cause her head to explode in a matter of hours. While Maggie Vera went to Fenric the Vile disguised as Abigael Jameson-Caine, she brought with her a candle in order to keep the Perfecti away. After following the frantic Harry Greenwood to the Tulipe Institute, Maggie, Macy Vaughn, and Celeste brought with them the candles. Realizing the golem's creation to be a trap, Celeste blew out all the candles to lower the protective spells and lure the Perfecti into their own trap. Once they were in proximity, Celeste reignited the candles to neutralize their powers, allowing the witches to get the upper hand and imprison the Perfecti in the Tomb of Chaos.

Effects[]
The candles provide two forms of protection against the Perfecti:
- Cloaking: Provides a cloaking effect around an area and everyone inside it, allowing one to not be sensed by the Perfecti.
- Power Negation: Neutralizes the Perfecti's powers if they are in range of the candles.
Trivia[]
- The candles can be ignited with a simple Candle Lighting Spell, as long as the first spell has already been cast.
