Psychometry is a magical method to perceive events of the past and future by touching an object that pertains to the event. It can be achieved through certain spells and powers.
Empathic Psychometry Spell[]
Empaths may have their powers evolve enough to be able to cast a spell to achieve a psychometric analysis of the events surrounding a particular object via tactical contact. In "Red Rain", Maggie Vera began looking to find and help Parker Caine, as she had begun to hear him calling out to her. Upon finding a now empty warehouse and noticing demonic scorch marks, Maggie recalled the psychometry spell, and Harry Greenwood determined that her powers might have evolved enough to where she could cast the spell. Maggie quickly cast the spell to discern what happened to Parker, allowing her to know that Alastor was close to having his son take on the power of the Source.

Psychometry as a Method[]
Psychometry can also be used as a method of focusing clairvoyance. In "Deconstructing Harry", Maggie developed the ability to foresee future events after exposure to black amber. An encounter with their father, Ray Vera, in "Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle" helped Maggie and Mel Vera come to the conclusion that Maggie's new power could be triggered and focused via psychometry, specifically close proximity or personal items belonging to the target of her visions. In "Yew Do You", Maggie's powers expanded, allowing her to have a vision of the past for the first time, while still using psychometry to focus her power.
