Rebecca Eldon is the former dean of Seattle State College.

History[]

Throughout the Series[]

In "You Can't Touch This", after seeing a transphobe in the Marginalization class she teaches, Mel Vera appeals to Rebecca that "Overcoming The Boundaries Of Gender" should be added to the syllabus, which she declines as the syllabus has already been filled out, but tells Mel that it can be added to the next semester's syllabus. Mel, who cannot wait that long as she's concerned for Kevin's wellbeing, introduces the book to her class unafraid of the consequences.

In "Yew Do You", Rebecca finds out that Mel is teaching the book to her class and calls her into the office. Mel sits in Eldon's office as the dean informs her that she can't just change the syllabus like that. Mel retaliates by stating that the book is extra credit and technically not part of the syllabus. She also adds that the book has changed some of the students' behavior. While Eldon likes that Mel is passionate, she hands her a pre-approved book that was used in the past, which Eldon wrote herself. After reading it, Mel finds Eldon's views are outdated and transphobic. During Mel's mandatory office hours, she skims over Rebecca Eldon's book when Kevin comes in and tells her that his roommate actually apologizes to him. Seeing the positive effect that her unsanctioned book brought, Mel tells Eldon that her book is outdated with the views that are presented in it. Eldon then allows Mel to teach the way she wants.

In "Witch Way Out", Mel finds the hard way that Eldon wasn't supportive and gives a passionate protest at the college, which later leads to Eldon being fired by the board.
