Ripples is the fourth episode of the fourth season of Charmed and the sixty-third episode of the series overall. It aired on April 1, 2022.

Synopsis[]

HOME ALONE – When Maggie's (Sarah Jeffery) demon-hunting leads her down a dangerous path, Mel (Melonie Diaz) decides it's time for them to take a break – and books the sisters for a weekend getaway. Meanwhile the new Charmed One (Lucy Barrett) is left in charge of the Command Center for the first time... which doesn't go as well as anyone hopes.

  • Enhanced Breath: Used by Duncan to blow out Kaela's candle and send her back to the Command Center, along with Dev.
  • Manifestation: Kaela accidentally manifests a little ball of light out of her doodles. She later uses this power to manifest a bunch of martinis and later bath bombs.
  • Memory Viewing: Used through the aromatherapy room's enchanted scents to bring memories to life. Maggie reviews her life from before she became a witch, and later Mel sees into the Tallyman's childhood memory.
  • Portal Creation: Kaela uses the board to transport herself to Merrow's Spring to help Maggie and Mel.
  • Shapeshifting: Used by Arnold to turn his merman tail into a pair of human legs.

  • Enchanted Water Lily: The flower was corrupted by one of the Tallyman's gears and spat thorns everywhere.
  • GemCast: Mel gave one to Kaela to observe the magical community. The Tallyman later used one to broadcast the Charmed Ones' "misdoings" to turn the magical world against them.

References to the Original Charmed[]

  • A merman appears in this episode. In the original series, while there was no merman, there was in fact a mermaid.
  • The Charmed Ones find out the Tallyman is a gremlin. In the original show, gremlins first appeared in season 6.
  • Arnold's comedic afraidness of being vanquished is a reference to how the Charmed Ones would frequently vanquish their enemies. It could also be a reference to how his character, Stanley, from the original show was comedically vanquished.
  • Maggie said "What in The Little Shop of Horrors". In the original, her counterpart, Phoebe, said "Welcome, to our Little Shop of Horrors".
  • The Tallyman secretly monitors the Charmed Ones, in their home. In the original series, the sisters were secretly recorded in the manor, for a demonic reality show.
  • Duncan ripping Kaela's drawing to stop the multiplication effect references to Kevin's power, which reversed all effects when his drawing is destroyed.
  • After the Enchanted Water Lily was corrupted by the Tallyman, it began spitting thorns. Thorn Spitting was a power possessed by Thorn Demons in the original series.
  • The magical community turning against the Charmed Ones is similar to how they turned against them at the end of season 8 of the original.
