On August 27, 2021, it was reported that Charmed would once again change showrunners and creative direction starting with season four. The husband-wife duo, Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, would be replaced with Jeffrey Lieber, Joey Falco and Nicki Renna as the new showrunners.[7]

Plot[]
In season four of Charmed, Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) find their lives transformed by the death of their beloved sister, Macy. But when their grief threatens to undo the Power of Three forever, the surprising arrival of a third Charmed One (Lucy Barrett) gives them a renewed opportunity to fulfill their destinies.
And this couldn't come at a better time, because a mysterious new enemy is rising in the shadows, instilling fear in every corner of the magical world. But as this new foe draws the Charmed Ones and their allies Harry (Rupert Evans) and Jordan (Jordan Donica) deeper into a twisted game, the question is — will this new trio be ready for what's to come? Trivia[]
- This is the shortest season of the series. This is also the last season of the show.
- The fourth season aired on Fridays once again, as it did during the second season.[2]
- Kaela Danso replaced the late Macy Vaughn to restore the Power of Three along with Mel and Maggie Vera. She is played by Lucy Barrett. Kaela is described as the following: "she's an artist, with a wild, unpredictable love for life and a one-of-a-kind view of the world that serves her well in her art, which is her life's passion. She's fun, irreverent, impulsive, strong-willed, and will bring a brand-new energy to the Power of Three."[9]
- The first nine episodes were devoted to solving the mystery of who Kaela is and how she is connected with Mel and Maggie.[10]
- In an interview with the new showrunners, they revealed that this season is about trauma and loss and how the characters will live through it, either by succumbing to it or pushing past it. In regards to Jordan's new status, they warned that "one should not assume he was a Whitelighter, or Harry was not a Whitelighter anymore or anyone was who they were before".[11]
- According to Sarah Jeffery, there was to be more for Maggie in the first three episodes and there would be more combat fighting.[12]
- Joey Falco revealed that "we'll be exploring the wider magical community this year rather than spending so much time in the demon world."[13]
- In his other tweet, Joey also revealed that "past Charmed Ones lore will be a big part of Season 4."[14] Joey also revealed that the origins of the Power of Three and the Sacred Flame will also be explored.
- This is the only season where the sisters did not appear in Hilltowne.[15]
- The Tallyman was not the only villain. The Charmed Ones faced a group of people called The Unseen.[16]
- This is the first and only season where the main characters did not have any interaction with members of the Caine Family on the screen.
- In Be Kind. Rewind., it was revealed that Abigael left Maggie her purses at some point after her departure from Seattle.
- This is the only season that Temporal Stasis was not used.
