Somnokinesis (also known as Sleep Manipulation) is the power to induce sleep and manipulate aspects of sleep, such as dreaming. Certain aspects of this power may also be accessed through empathy, though the extent of this is unclear.

Overview[]

The users of this ability are able to manipulate sleep in a variety of forms, including inducing a being to sleep, creating and warping dreams, daydreams and possibly nightmares. Certain aspects of this ability can be achieved through spell casting, potion making or the use of magical objects or substances.

Branches of Somnokinesis[]

Sleep Inducement[]

Sleep Inducement is the ability to put beings to sleep at will. The effects of this ability can also be achieved through the use of sleeping spells and potions. Empaths with emotion- manipulating abilities may learn to use their power to incept sleepiness into an individual. When used, the intended target falls to sleep almost instantly.

In "Manic Pixie Nightmare", when Macy Vaughn and Galvin Burdette held a séance with the psychic Mama Roz to try to learn more about dealing with Macy's darkness, the spirit of Galvin's grandmother used this ability to force her grandson to sleep, so that she could communicate with him alone in a dream.

Charity Callahan used some sort of sleeping spell on Macy in "Memento Mori". The full effect of the spell is not shown, though Macy is shown to rapidly fall backwards before waking up in the Vortex Viribus.

In "Dance Like No One is Witching", Abigael Jameson-Caine used a sleeping spell on Harry Greenwood, after he became ill from a demonic parasite and attacked Mel Vera.

In "Spectral Healing", Maggie Vera was able to put Antonio Garcia to sleep through her emotion-manipulating ability after he saw her use her powers and saw the ghost Daisy separate from her body.

In "What to Expect When You're Expecting the Apocalypse", Harry made a Dreamless Sleep Potion to avoid dreaming of a series of nightmares but then used it on Swan, who had been turned into one of the Whispering Evil's infected, to save Macy.

Dream Walking[]

Dream Walking (also known as Dream Leaping) is the ability to project into beings' dreams and manipulate them. The users include themselves within a dream and manipulate the dream around other beings to create a message. The effects of this ability can also be achieved through the usage of Darklighter Poison.

In "Manic Pixie Nightmare", when Macy Vaughn and Galvin Burdette held a séance with psychic Mama Roz to try to learn more about dealing with Macy's darkness, the spirit of Galvin's grandmother put her grandson to sleep and used this ability to communicate with him alone in a dream.

In "Things to Do in Seattle When You're Dead", Harry Greenwood's Darklighter, Jimmy, was able to appear to Macy Vaughn in a dream. He was very seductive and tried to get her to return home.

In "Dance Like No One is Witching", TBA

In "Breaking the Cycle", Harry inhaled a small dosage of the Darklighter Poison that sent him into a dream connected to Jimmy. He instructs him to go to Fort Island. After everything that happened while he was there, Harry enters the dream again to talk to Jimmy and realizes that he is being held captive against his will and needs him to save him.

In "Sudden Death", TBA

In "I Dreamed a Dream…", the Guardian breaks into Macy's spell-induced dream, where she plays a pilot, nearly gets run over, officiates Macy and Harry's wedding, and later talk to Macy about accepting her death before breaking the spell.
