Soul Transference is the power to transfer one's soul into another being's body while placing their soul in the user's body—effectively switching bodies. This ability is an expansion of empathy, which an empath can eventually grow to. According to the original Vera Book of Shadows, while the initial transference can be accidental, an empath with full control of their powers can easily reverse the process.
History[]
In "Switches & Stones", this ability was first displayed by Maggie Vera when she accidentally switched bodies with her sister, Mel Vera, during an argument after her power was temporarily amplified by touching a rune in the Vortex Viribus under Vera Manor. The sisters spent the entire next day in each other's bodies, and only after both of them came to understand each other better was Mel—in Maggie's body—able to return the two of them to their respective bodies.

Trivia[]
- This power was named in the episode, Switches & Stones, and had an entry in the Book of Shadows.
- In the original series, there was no soul/body swapping power. However, much like Maggie and Mel, Paige Matthews did accidentally create a potion that caused her to switch bodies with her sister, Phoebe Halliwell, for a short time.
