Temporal Manipulation is the power to manipulate the flow of time in a variety of ways. It is a collective term that is used to refer to several temporal-based powers. Some aspects of this power, such as time traveling, can also be accessed through the usage of certain spells.
This is the primary power of Charmed One, Mel Vera. Throughout her time as a witch, Mel has displayed various aspects of this ability.
Branches of Temporal Manipulation[]
The users of this ability are able to selectively alter the flow of time in a variety of ways. Temporal Manipulation is broken down into several branches.
Temporal Stasis[]
Temporal Stasis is a branch of Temporal Manipulation that allows the user to completely stop the flow of time, causing objects and beings to instantly freeze in place and appear completely motionless. Concentration is required in order to keep everything frozen, as even a small lapse can cause time to resume. Anger will also cause users to be unable to access their power at all, until they calm down and are able to think rationally. Witches, Whitelighters and Darklighters are naturally immune to this power. Aside from these, certain upper-level demons, supernatural beings, and mystical substances are immune or resistant to this power as well.
Temporal Acceleration[]
Temporal Acceleration is a branch of Temporal Manipulation that allows the user to speed up the flow of time over an object. It is shown that the longer the flow of time needs to be accelerated, the longer the process takes to be completed. For example, Mel was able to cause a ciao of Escape Oil to age two weeks in a few seconds, but it took longer to make a flower grow and bloom.
Temporal Displacement[]
Temporal Displacement is a branch of Temporal Manipulation and a form of Time Traveling that allows the user to send objects or people through time and space without traveling themselves. Mel developed this power after her other temporal-based powers were rendered dormant. According to Mel, while still new to her powers, she isn't able to physically go back in time herself, only send her consciousness in order to pull back to the present what she has sent back in time or to simply retrieve a needed item from the past.
