Trivia[]
- The episode title could be a reference to several things that take place in the episode. Firstly, Ruby is unveiled from witchness protection and her demonic stepfather begins hunting her. Second, Kaela's biological parents are fully unveiled in the episode, and she is able to meet the two of them. Lastly, Dexter Vaughn is brought back accidentally from the Veil by Harry.
- Harry Greenwood is shown to be able to cast spells in this episode.
- It turned out that Ruby's surname is Malone.
- Roxie returns in this episode. She was last seen in The Tallyman Cometh.
- Dexter Vaughn returns in this episode. He was last seen in Don't Look Back in Anger.
- Jordan Chase is mentioned. He was last seen in Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my…. Despite Jordan Donica being credited for this episode, his character does not physically appear. However, Jordan's picture is shown on the Unseen's hit list.
- Ray Vera is mentioned. He was last seen in The Tallyman Cometh. Ray's picture is shown on the Unseen's hit list.
- Swan and Donnie Hoblinka are mentioned. They were last seen in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Sandwich.
- Joséfina Reyes's picture is shown on the Unseen's hit list. Joséfina herself last appeared in Not That Girl.
- Macy Vaughn is mentioned. She was last seen in I Dreamed a Dream….
- Marisol Vera is mentioned. She was last seen in Spectral Healing.
- Knansie is indirectly mentioned. She was last seen in The Source Awakens.
- The moment in time that Mel looks back to in order to retrieve the original Book of Shadows appears to be just after Harry leaves with the witch Anya in Safe Space.
- Because of Mel's involvement in drawing in dangerous conspiracy theorists, Roxie installed a failsafe button under the bar that will automatically extinguish every candle and smoke all the patrons out of the Blue Camellia.
- After Ruby vanquished Earl, she says "Goodbye Earl!" This could be a reference to the song, Goodbye Earl, by The Chicks.
Continuity Errors[]
- In her Instagram Story of July 11, Bethany Brown stated that she knew her character's last name, but the only thing she revealed is that it started with a 'W'. Nevertheless, in this episode, for some reason, Ruby's last name begins with a 'M'.
- In Unsafe Space, Ruby told Mel that it was she who made the decision to live without magic, when she turned 18 and go into the Witchness Protection, and it was her mother who presented her with that choice. However, in Unveiled, it turned out that it was Ruby's mother who made such a decision for both of them.
- However, her mother making that decision, was in order to flee and save themselves in a rush. It can be presumed that after fleeing, Ruby was given the choice to go through with the retirement or keep living her life as a witch.
Answered Questions from Previous Episode(s)[]
- Who are Kaela's birth parents?
- Kaela's parents are Zephyr and Carolyn Vales.
- How is Kaela able to be the new Charmed One?
- As of now, there is no real answer as both of Kaela's biological parents are non-magical, since both of Kaela's biological parents are human.
- What will the Provenance Spell reveal when cast on Kaela's baby blanket?
- The spell showed Zephyr and Carolyn holding Kaela as a baby in the back of a truck.
- Will the Charmed Ones be able to restore their reputation with the magical community?
- So far, the magical community is divided on who to believe. However, Maggie has taken to using a GemCast to send a recording of her asking the magical community as a whole to understand that she and her sisters and friends are real people who can make mistakes.
Unanswered Questions[]
- How is Kaela a witch and a Charmed One when her biological parents are non-magical?
- How did Harry bring Dexter back from the Veil?
References to the Original Charmed[]
- Dexter is brought back from the dead. In the original series, his counterpart, Sam Wilder was resurrected by the Elders as a Whitelighter again, after he died.
- The original Charmed Ones once went up against a warlock who could clone himself.
- Ruby's mother's name is Patricia, the same first name as the original Charmed Ones' mother.
- Mel vanquished Earl's clones by tossing potions at them. In the original, the Charmed Ones often used potions to vanquish their enemies.
- The Unseen releasing a hit list of the Charmed Ones' known allies is similar to the comic continuation of the original series where the innocents that have been saved by the Charmed Ones over the years were murdered as part of a ritual to resurrect The Source Of All Evil by Neena who established a following similar to the Unseen.
- In the following comic, the Charmed Ones bring the remaining innocents to the Manor to protect them until the threat to them is dealt with.
- Kaela's birth parents being non-magical is similar to how Billie was born a witch, even though her mother wasn't one, due to the powers skipping a generation with Billie and her sister inheriting them.
- One could also argue it makes her similar to Melinda Warren — the original Charmed Ones' ancestor who was born to two mortal parents.
Production Notes[]
- The episode was watched by 0.35 million U.S. viewers.
