Dear Margarita Vera,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately, I cannot testify on my sister's behalf.
Whatever she's done,
I'm sure she deserves to be imprisoned for eternity.
Waverly Jameson.
— Message of Waverly to Maggie Vera[src]

Waverly Jameson is a mysterious witch. She is the younger daughter of Francesca Jameson and the younger maternal half-sister of Abigael Jameson-Caine.

History

Early Life

Many years ago, Francesca gave birth to Waverly from an unknown man. By then, she already had a troubled pre-teen daughter, Abigael. Francesca took great care of her new baby daughter and wouldn't let her older half-sister even hold her, because she was a half-demon and could smear Waverly with her vile darkness.[1]

When Waverly was three years old, Abigael snuck into her room and took her by the wrists and accidentally burned her hand. Francesca was able to put out the fire, but Waverly was irreparably injured. Later, Francesca turned to the Elders to rid her elder daughter of her demonic side, and when Abigael found out about it, she trapped her mother and little sister into the house and almost burned them alive.[2] Somehow, Francesca managed to save herself and Waverly, and she also managed to rid Abigael of her demonic form and imprison that darkness in a totem.[3] After that, 16-year-old Abigael was permanently banished from their home and lost contact with her mother and sister.[1]

Many years later, the grown-up Waverly gave birth to her daughter Lydia. Due to the unusual powers of the child, Francesca began hunting her granddaughter, which prompted Waverly to take her daughter and start hiding from her mother.[4]

Throughout the Series

In "An Inconvenient Truth", after saving Eleanor Anderson, Abigael demanded a favor from Jordan Chase in return and asked him to contact her sister.

In "Triage", it was revealed that she kept a strange totem that supposedly contained Abigael's demonic side. When Jordan Chase came to her sister at Abigael's request, she refused to go out, but in the end decided to give this item along with a letter. Abigael receives a letter from her hidden sister, who asks her not to try to contact her and their mother again, as they both want nothing to do with Abigael.

In "Private Enemy No. 1", Mel Vera find out about Waverly's existence after Abigael reveals that she was rejected by her sister after the Charmed Ones found out that Abigael's demonic side was trying to kill her.

In "O, The Tangled Web", Abigael called Jordan over to her apartment, under the pretense of signing some legal documents, in order to question him over what happened when he received the totem from Waverly. Because Abigael's demon form, which had been bound into the totem, was continuously trying to kill her in her sleep, Abigael was certain that Waverly had cursed it, but needed to know what type of curse it was in order to dispel it. In order to do so, Abigael wanted to use a demon mind-meld on Jordan to see what had happened, despite Jordan's insistence that he never saw Waverly. After being interrupted by Mel, believing Abigael was behind an attack on a witch, only to discover it was someone else. Jordan relented and allowed Abigael to delve into his mind and find out what happened. But, to Abigael's dismay, she found that Jordan was right - Waverly hadn't cursed the totem, meaning Abigael's self-harming was being caused by herself.

In "Spectral Healing", Francesca's manifestation appears in Abigael's prison cell in the Tomb of Chaos and reminded her of how she almost burned Waverly alive.

In "Chaos Theory", Maggie Vera tried to get in contact with Waverly to ask her to testify for her older sister in order to prove to the Perfecti that Abigael does not belong in the Tomb of Chaos. However, Waverly instead sent a letter back to Maggie stating that she cannot testify for Abigael, and felt that whatever Abigael had done made her deserving of eternal imprisonment. Later on, during Abigael's trial, when Francesca was called to testify against her daughter by citing the incidents in her past that eventually led to Francesca throwing Abigael out, Mel figured out that Francesca was openly biased as to which daughter she preferred, with her seeing Waverly as perfect, while Abigael was 'defective' simply due to who her father was. Abigael also stated that, all her life, she only wanted her mother to love her like Francesca did Waverly.

In "What to Expect When You're Expecting the Apocalypse", Waverly is first seen getting into her car in a parking garage where she's surprised by Abby in the backseat. Waverly is not happy to see her, but more pressuring matters take urge as demonic bounty hunter is after Waverly. Abigeal takes her to the Vera Manor after disabling the tracer to keep Waverly safe where they get into an other argument. Waverly puts the tracer back online secretly pulling off an gambit which ultimately works in her favor. After the bounty hunter is vanquished she informs Mel and Abby about her daughter and that she's now estranged from Francesca Jameson since she was too obsessed with Lydia's powers. The sisters seemly reconcile as Mel tells them they can put the whole old narrative their mother inflicted on Waverly. Waverly also agrees to help Abby get the Blade of Clarity from their mother.

In "The Storm Before the Calm", TBA

Personality

Waverly tends to talk politely even to those who are unpleasant to her. It can also be assumed that she is a little old-fashioned, as she prefers to send letters, instead of contacting her interlocutors using modern forms of communication.

There is also an assumption that Waverly is a bit unsociable or just doesn't like strangers, as she doesn't even like to go out on the doorstep and talk to those who come to her for help. Perhaps this secrecy and suspicion appeared in her because she had to hide from her own mother to protect her daughter Lydia.

Waverly is a very caring mother who will do anything to protect her daughter, even if it means putting someone else in danger. For example, she deliberately lured a demon to Vera Manor even knowing that there was a pregnant Mel in the house, who could be seriously injured. Also, despite her disagreement with her mother, Waverly continued to believe for a long time that she was right in the harsh upbringing of her sister Abby. However, later she gradually began to change her mind and agreed to help her sister get the thing she needed from their mother.

Physical Appearance

Waverly is a beautiful white woman, appearing to be in her early thirties in age, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. However, her entire left arm is covered with ugly scars due to burns that she received at the age of three because of her sister Abigael.[2]

Powers and Abilities

Basic Powers
Active Powers
  • Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with one's mind.
Inactive Powers
  • Immunity: Being a witch, Waverly is inherently immune to certain magical abilities (e.g. the Sirens' songs and pixie dust).

Relationships

Family

  • Waverly and Francesca Jameson: They had a good relationship, Francesca always took care of her and protected her youngest daughter from her own sister. She also trusted Waverly enough to give her the demonic totem when she became old enough and started practicing witchcraft. In return, Waverly supported her mother and agreed with her on many things, especially regarding Abigael's exile. When Waverly had a daughter, however, their relationship changed. Francesca wanted to use the baby to achieve eternal beauty, forcing Waverly to hide Lydia from her, and Francesca began to hunt Waverly and even send demons for her head.
  • Waverly and Abigael Jameson-Caine: They both have a hostile relationship. In her early childhood, Waverly was the victim of at least two arson attacks by her older half-sister. The first time was accidental, leaving a scar on her skin. The second case was a real attempt in which Waverly and their mother were almost burned alive. All this turned out to be a childhood trauma for her and the beginning of hatred for Abigael. It is not known if the sisters met again after Abigael's exile, but, in 2021, she sent Jordan Chase to Waverly for a demonic totem. She agreed to give it away, but also gave a letter asking Abigael never to contact her and their mother again, as they do not want to have anything to do with her. It is not known if Abigael ever apologized to her sister for their traumatic past, but regardless of that, Waverly is adamant that whatever her sister did, she deserves to be imprisoned for eternity.

Trivia

  • The identity of her father remains unknown.
