Woodland Pixies have an external heart that looks like an acorn. If the heart is taken from them, they become completely and obsessively subservient to the one that possesses it.

- While in the first season, pixies are shown to take on their true forms (small, glowing creatures with large transparent wings) in order to fly. They resemble fast-flying balls of yellow light and glittery pixie dust. In the fourth season, despite there being numerous pixies in various episodes (Chloe, Annie, and Daphne Periwinkle, as well as the pixies present at the one year memorial honoring the victims of the Faction), none of them are shown taking on their true forms and are even shown to be able to manifest their wings to fly without taking on this form which leads to inconsistencies with how the pixies are portrayed in the first season. Interestingly, in the fourth season, none of them are shown generating pixie dust either, which is supposed to be a common trait amongst pixies.
